Having had a very pleasant stay at Bayview Villas four years ago, we chose to try out the brand new one-bedroom self-contained apartments in Poets Road last week, opened just before Christmas. Our apartment had excellent amenities (lovely bathroom, very comfortable king bed and functional kitchen), was quite tastefully furnished and the view from our balcony was fabulous. Couldn't imagine a better position. All staff members we encountered were happy, friendly and helpful, parking was a breeze (under the new building with a lift directly up to the apartments) and the supermarket, bottle-o and Hobart CBD are just minutes away. The area is peaceful and we felt a feeling of relief to get "home" from a busy day and just relax in our nice quiet apartment. In fact, we enjoyed the experience so much so that we extended our stay by one extra night, cancelling our original plans to stay at another better known 'towering' hotel starting with "W" on the waterfront. (Had stayed at the G.C. Hotel on the waterfront a week earlier, and although it was very nice, we enjoyed Bayview Villas more.) Highly recommended for those who don't want to feel isolated in a big hotel. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Hobart. Photos to be added..

Stayed at one of the old over priced 2 br town house units. The floor seems rotten and making annoying cracking noises everywhere even when the cat walks on it. Avoid if you are difficult with sleeping. There is no air con and no fly screens on any windows/doors so there are few spiders and insects wander around, specially at night. Otherwise it's clean, good view, and good daily service.

There was no garden view and the bedroom overlook the pool room and are lit up by fluorescent lights all night! When we complained to the manager it took 4 phone calls to get through to him, no one else would do anything they said it was up to the manager. The managers solution was to put a blanket over the window.

Small 2 bedroom units with no view. A bit dated but clean. Renovations happening at the moment (Oct 11) so can't open back doors onto deck. Good location, close to Hobart and great views from front of units.
