Just got back to Melbourne from a weekend in Adelaide and stayed at the Sombrero Comfort motor inn , with 4 kids it was the only accom that was affordable enough to keep the family happy , most family friendly hotel I've stayed in and with 24hr reception it's was great , was there 10 years ago and went back again , thank you.

This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Sombrero. On this occasion I stayed in a two bedroom family room which is very spacious and comfortable. The decor, fittings and furniture in the room are very nice. It was good to have a flat screen HD TV in both rooms so the kids could watch their shows in peace (maybe that was me also!). The complex is very secure with a key card opening the gate to the carpark and complex at night and a person on the front desk 24hrs. My main prerequisites were met - comfy beds, good shower, good reverse cycle airconds, very clean and quiet. We had our own car so it was great to stay somewhere close to the city where you could park in front of your room and not have to pay for parking. The motel is also on a main road with the local buses travelling straight into the city. I also ate in the restaurant twice and had great food and service from people who treat you like family members. Very welcoming and beautiful people.

Our accomodation consisted of a downstairs toilet, utility room equipped with washing machine and dryer, kitchen (fully equipped), lounge/diner and stairs leading to 2 double bedrooms and combine bathroom and toilet. Everything was to a very high standard with modern and clean equipment. We did not use the motel restaraunt as it was easy to visit a local supermarket ( 5 mins walk) and cook whatever meals you wished: in fact we did some entertaining! The location of the motel has good and bad points. It is on the main road into the city and so we were pleased to be able to catch the bus and leave the car parked. However, being near the main road does mean that noise levels are generally higher, but nothing that stopped us sleeping. We really enjoyed staying at this motel for a few days and found the staff really very helpful. We had some visitors who used the swimming pool: no complaints.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Sombrero Motor Inn and found it a fantastic venue and experience. The Motel is close to the heart of Adelaide, 5 minutes drive, and is very well maintained and presented. The staff were very friendly and obliging and would go out of their way to be of assistance. The room was very clean and quite large by motel standards. The room was also well stocked and there were rooms available which had cooking facilities if you wished to prepare your own meals. There were plenty of cafe's and restaurants within a short drive and a restaurant at the motel also. Given the motel is on a main road we found the rooms very quiet and very homely. Would thoroughly recommend the motel and if you are looking for somewhere to dine or relax around Adelaide, the staff know some great options to choose from.
