Our family booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 13 nights at the Windsor Apartments. Check in was prompt and efficient. Undercover car parking was complimentary and convenient and security to the apartments like Fort Knox! Tennis court, pool, on site gym and small spa were well-maintained. Windsor is one of a series of apartment complexes owned by the Regent Apartment group in and around Adelaide - this one the only one with a tennis court, which we used frequently.
Our apartment had one queen and 2 single beds. Plenty of cupboard space, full kitchen, one TV in lounge area, washing machine and dryer and small entry hall with another cupboard and desk. Small air conditioner in living room surprisingly kept the apartment at a comfortable temperature in the middle of a cold Adelaide winter. 1st floor apartment overlooked Carrington Street which I found a bit noisy at night. A higher floor or an apartment away from the main street would probably have been quieter.
We paid $190 AUD/night. The only downside to this seemingly very reasonable rate was that there are charges for all sorts of things if anything goes wrong (eg losing a key, setting of the smoke detector in the kitchen, needing an extra towel/pillow,forgetting to display your apartment's parking permit). We also were given only one key instead of 2 as one had gone missing. Despite several requests for a second key during our 1st week, we never got one which was very inconvenient for our family.
Windsor apartments were a handy 10 minute stroll to the fabulous Adelaide Central markets and a 10 - 15 minute walk up to Rundell mall. SASS cafe around the corner offers very personal, old-fashioned service and is great for breakfast, coffees and snacks Mon-Fri. The best dining experience by far was "The Red Ochre" on War Memorial Drive. Dress up a little and treat yourself to adventurous and mouthwatering Australian fare! The Adelaide Zoo is also fantastic and a 15-20 minute walk from the Apartments.
All-in-all a pleasant, easy stay. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend. Happy travels!
