The apartment itself was very nice, spacious, well-decorated and clean, with great housekeeping staff. Some of the front desk staff, however, were quite unhelpful, rude or evasive. We stayed here as the sister Oaks Horizon along the road had been flooded out from top to bottom - still under police investigation. Anything to do with the hostile takeover of the Oaks group by Thai company in early 2011 I wonder, and the subsequent sacking of the founder and CEO. Hmmm, me wonders? Also, if you are up on the higher floors, especially back rooms, there is a nightclub below that goes till 5am and keeps you awake.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is facing onto North Terrace as if you are at the back of the building you hear...

We can assure you that the flooding at Oaks Horizons was an unfortunate and indecent act of vandalism, and certainly not related to a company takeover at all.

“luxury apartment in central location”

Stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath (one with double spa both with large walk-in showers) penthouse apartment for a few days in Dec 11- beautifully furnished and well equipped(large living room, laundry and full kitchen) with wraparound balcony and spectacular views of the city. Staff were really helpful and friendly. These are really good value apartments in the cultrual district close to the river and beautiful walks - yet beside shopping, restaurants and bars. Car parking was free and the venue has a swimming pool/spa/sauna etc. all in all, highly recommended!

Room Tip: the top floors have large penthouse apartments on each corner - these are worth booking!

“Adelaide get away”

The Oaks was very nice and close to everything down town in Adelaide. It was very convenient for all my needs.

“Dont think Ill be trying that again....”

Got to our hotel late in the afternooon to check in. Have rented a car during our stay in Adelaide on during check in I ask where our car can be parked and I am told there is limited spaces at the hotel for parking so iw ill have to park at the public car park next door which charges $13 every 12 hours, which means every time I need to use the car it costs me a minimum of $13 to park my car. How can a hotel in the middle of the CBD in Adelaide not provide enough parking space for its guests? Obviously when the lady checking us in advised me of this I got a little frustrated. She handed us our keys to go and take our luggage upstairs before I had to drive my car to the public car park on on entry to our one bedroom apartment we had a room facing a brickwall on the 7th floor of the hotel One more floor up we would have had a lovely view but instead we had a wall about 2 metres away from our window.

Thanks Oaks Embassy, never again!

Room Tip: Booking your parking in advance as stupid as that sounds....

“Would rather sleep on the street”

This spacious apartment is full with different assortments of human hair. Stains are provided free of charge including red wine carpet stain and dead fly wall stain. Room includes complimentary gift of confusing sliding internal panel which provides hours of entertainment when rolling it pointlessly down the corridor. Remotes do not work so youll have to kneel on the wet carpet to change the channel If you want a 2 bathroom apartment, too bad- the second shower won't work and you will be patronized by being told to just use the one. Staff are especially horrible which makes for a lovely trip.
