Quest on Sturt makes Basil's establishment look 5-star. Avoid.
Positives:
Efficient young man on reception the day that we checked out.
Negatives:
LOCATION
The apartments are located next to a busy pub, which is very loud every Friday and Saturday night, with drunks walking past at all times of the night. Next door is a kind of meat distribution warehouse, with carcasses being delivered every weekday at the crack of dawn, with the reversing "beep beep" sounds of numerous forklifts, punctuated with the loud crashing of skip-bins making sleep impossible. Across the road is a half-way house for recovering juvenile-delinquents. We feared for our safety at one point when approached by a group when entering our apartment.
STAFF
The staff at this hotel do not know customer service, and should seek alternative employment in an industry where they do not need to talk to humans.
The woman at reception entered into a 45 minute long argument with us, after we reported that both phone lines in our apartment were not working and requesting a room change. She accused us of tampering with the room and lying. She shouted and was rolling her eyes whenever we were speaking. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were initially informed he was not on premises. However 30 minutes into our "discussion" we found out that the man who we had seen walking up the stairs next to reception when we came in to report the problem was in fact "Robin" the property owner and "manager", and that he had simply been hiding upstairs listening the entire time. He came down and was very condescending to both my family members and my elderly mother.
(LACK OF) SERVICING
After returning to the apartment after a day out, we discovered that our room had not been serviced. When we informed reception, they told us that housekeeping had gone home for the day (despite the brochure claiming 24 hour housekeeping) and that nothing could be done about this.
Also, the days that the room was actually serviced, we soon discovered that the daily 'service' relates to nothing more than a "straightening" of the beds and a replacing of towels. Thought-out the one week that we stayed, bins were not emptied, showers and bath not wiped, whilst the kitchen and bathroom benches were also not wiped.
