My sister and I stayed here overnight when in Adelaide. Hyde Park is a nice area and so thought this might be a good accommodation option. We couldn't wait to leave! The person on reception on arrival was unfriendly bordering on rude! She threatened us about using the air conditioning unnecessarily even though it had been a hot day. When we arrived in the room, it was one of the worst motels I had been in, everything was well and truly past it's use-by-date. The curtains, louvre windows, blankets, mattresses and quilt covers need replacing as they just look unclean. The final straw that made us leave first thing in the morning was a cockroach on our breakfast tray! Caught it in a glass for them to see and promptly left!!!!!

Recently my husband and I had to travel to Adelaide on business. As we stay at Golden Chain motels regularly and knew Hyde Park was a pleasant area we chose to stay at the Jasper Motor Inn. Big mistake.

It was a hot evening so I looked for a window to open. None but there were wooden louvres however when I tried to slide them open the dirt that covered the screens andthat was in the grooves was awful. The "instruction" sheet was so old it was yellowed and frayed. The airconditioner rattled and the bathroom was straight out of the 50's.

Definately not a motel to which I would plan to return.

We chose to stay at Jasper Motor Inn because it was really close to a wedding that we were attending. It's located very close to the fashionable King William Road, which has loads of great cafes and shops. However, this really is the only thing the hotel has going for it. The rooms are incredibly dated, with horrible wood panelling walls, noisy air conditioning and original bathroom. Also, we foung the staff to be very unfriendly. When we checked out, they asked if we'd used anything from the mini bar (we hadn't) and she said "that's funny, because we had to replace a can of lemonade yesterday". She seemed delight in making me feel like a liar, when we absolutely hadn't had a can of lemonde. Left a very bad taste in my mouth!

I stayed here as a child with my parents about 30 years ago, and our family found ourselves in need of accomodation and were fortunate that the Jasper Motor Inn was able to accomodate us, late in the evening. They even had a room with a double bed and 3 singles, which suited us and is quite unusual. However, while clean and comfortable enough the motel room was very basic and did not seem to have changed in 30 years. The best thing about this motel is the location, it is close to the city and in a very nice and quiet part of town, unlike many motels in Adelaide which are on main roads and can be a bit noisy.
