The intercontinental in Adelaide is a good hotel, well located, quite, with lovely views of the Torrents River, over the city and down to the coast. It is in short walking distance to the inner city centre, museums, univercity, botanical gardens, cinema, restaurants & more.

If I had to be overly critical I'd say the room could do with an upgrade, although the bathroom seems to have been up date recently with modern fixtures and an excellent shower. The room have an odd octaginal shape with the TV positioned to the side of the bed which we found a little odd.

The hotel is clean, well run and has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The main hotel restaurant next to the lobby serves good food, I particularly enjoyed the local Barrosa valley rabbit and obviously they have a great selection of wine. Certainly worth an evening dinner.
We staying in the Club suites and therefore had access to the club lounge which is a great place to meet in the afternoon for drinks and snacks. I thought the complementary tasters served by the chef were excellent. We had breakfast in the lounge every morning which was very comfortable to relax enjoy coffee, read the news paper and plan the rest of the day.

The valet parking guys were great. they took good care of our car, helped with directions and knew all the good places to go.

All round a good hotel, certainly recommend it.

We stayed in a King River View Room, which was large and comfortable. Big bathroom with somewhat colourful orange/red stone tiles, but was clean and spacious. Great view over river and cricket stadium. Room was nice and quiet.

Very convenient for city attractions, tram to beach (40 mins), station etc - better restaurants are about 15 min walk away to the west (turn left out of hotel)

Staff were good and concierge helpful.

Room service food was fine - My wife thought the Cesar Salad particularly good.

Overall a good room and good value for money

Comfortable, spacious rooms that are recently renovated (bathrooms maintain somewhat dated marble but everything was clean and in working order). Good bath products. Huge flat screen tv.
Grateful for any early checkin on the day however when I had called the night before to confirm that this was ok, the checkin staff member was very dismissive and non committal. Don't let one staff members attitude put u off though - checkin service otherwise was very professional and friendly as was valet parking.
Would recommend staying here to others.

We booked the IC mostly because of the location, but also because we are Ambassador Club members and try to book IC when possible. The location IS fantastic, easy access to the bus, tram, river walks - everything we were looking for in Adelaide.

Check in was hassle free, the room, while a bit dated was comfortable enough for 5 nights. The Club level perks were nice, as was the service. We made use of the Concierge for dinner reservations and we were impressed with their willingness to help and the suggestions that were made.

Overall it was a great stay, and we would book the InterContinental Adelaide again if were to return.
