I recently made a trip to Townsville to see the in-laws and I was very impressed with our accommodation pick. Not being overly excited about the in-laws trip we picked a motel over staying with the family. I liked the look of Motel Palms website and we locked it away for our 4 day stay. During our stay we received great friendly service, a nice clean room and enjoyed the beautiful pool – they even gave us the idea of bringing the relatives over to use the pool and have a family BBQ, this went down a treat with the family and it was a wonderful afternoon.
It’s rare these days to experience good service and to deal with friendly people who genuinely like doing what they do – keep up the good work Motel Palms and see you around Easter when we head back for another family visit!

What a relief it was after travelling for some time to settle for a few days at Motel Palms in Townsville.

We stayed in one of the comfortable self contained rooms whilst exploring the neighbourhood and enjoyed the freedom of preparing our own food and eating when we felt like it.

This was our second stay at the Palms Motel. As travellers from NZ we found it to be quiet comfortable and cheap. The staff were very friendly and the service was great.
We are heading back early November for our third stay and looking forward to it.

The location is average (with all the other average motels), the room was a reasonable size but had to fit a queen and two singles, the decor is tired, but the place was clean. The price was average, the breakfast was average, the pool was quite nice though your average 'motel size'. The beds were rock hard and the pillows agony. I slept with two pillows but still had a sore neck and shoulder the next afternoon. I am always disappointed to get hole-in-the-wall noisy air conditioners but this isn't a new building so they were probably to be expected. We thought we'd get something pretty good after reading the reviews here but we got average everything. What we didn't get was service with a smile. Quite disappointing really.
