Stayed 4 nights over NY eve in 2bd apt. Room was clean, beds comfy, well appointed kitchen, lovely gardens, car parking close to room, small bathroom but coped, AC units were a little on the noisy side, but fresh towels everyday was a bonus. Outside BBQ was kept spotless. Only disappointment was the disinterested reception staff, don't expect a smile. Didn't use the restaurant as the menu appeared expensive. Overall we would stay again.

Seagulls Resort is nicely positioned just out of Townsville though easy walking distance to The Strand, Townsville's main attraction. The meandering garden paths and landscaped
pool area make Seagulls Resort a lovely place to relax and soak up some tropical sun.
Lacking was the personal touch. Our stay got off to an ordinary start when, on our Saturday night arrival, the restaurant kitchen closed at 8.55 on the dot and refused our albeit late reservation. A private party rocked on in the bar area whilst we ate take away pasta in our room. It was decided, we wouldn't eat in the restaurant. Buses run into the city regularly from just outside, just don't expect the reception to know.

The rooms were clean & well maintained; the garden setting and pools were lovely. We stayed there for 5 nights but felt more like a number than a name - customer service was fairly impersonal. You really need a car to stay there though. It's approx 40 min walk to city. The courtesy bus runs twice a day, at 9am & 12pm, Mon to Fri. & must be pre-booked. Public transport bus that stops outside the hotel ceases at 6pm; & doesn't run on Sundays; the Redbus that goes along the Strand ceases at 8.30pm.

We spent one night in this hotel. It looked very clean and the reception was kind. The food in the restaurant was very good. We asked for a quiet room but were unpleasantly surprised by the noise made by watering the garden. It seemed to go on all night.
