A good motel with more than its share of faults.

This hotel is close to the city, clean, and is comfortable. However, it has more than a few faults. Many of these faults stem from its age & design. Insufficient parking (20 spots for 45 rooms), the delivery trucks are right outside your door (early morning wakeup), no flyscreen on the windows, poor TV reception, cars arriving at night shine headlights into your windows (so don’t stay on the ground floor) and I have no idea who designed the bathrooms (blinding sunlight in your eyes).

The staff are friendly, the rooms are spotless and fairly well maintained (one of the lights in my room didn’t work and a previous guest left their 5:15am alarm on). There is a pool and wireless internet (though I didn’t test the speed). I don’t have a problem recommend staying there, but when there are plenty of other options on offer, I recommend staying elsewhere – just don’t expect 4 star if you do decide to check in.

While we didn't get to stay here as they were booked out we were very impressed with the service offered by the front desk to help find us a room elsewhere.
We arrived after the motel [8.15] we had booked in Bowen had shafted us by giving away our confirmed room with 2 tired and grumpy teenagers who had been in the car since 6.30 am! The girl on the reception desk could not have been more helpful and finally [9.pm] found us a place in Ingham after many phonecalls.
I would certainly stay here after this service! Great work!

Great location, price very competitive, staff very pleasant, and rooms very clean. Frist stayed on a visit through Townsville South. The room was a studio apartment, and very adequate to our needs.The room did not have a view but as we were there only really to sleep it did not matter The main thing we were looking for was that it was well maintained and very clean.

It was so nice that we decided to stay again on our way back through Townsville. We had an upstairs room which was extremely nice. We had a view of the mountains, a patio off the lounge area and again very well maintained. An absolute pleasure to stay there.

Breakfast and dinner are available in their dining room and again spotlessly clean.

You really did not need to go out of the complex.

Had a great stay at the Robert Towns, the staff were extremely helpful , friendly and efficient. The rooms and hotel generally were nicely decorated and very clean. It's only 5 mins walk to the centre of town and some good day & night spots to visit.
