We just stayed the night in Townsville on the way down the coast, and the Holiday Inn was perfect.

We got in late, and the night manager responded instantly, checking us in, in about two minutes flat. Our room was comfortable, recently updated, and had black-out curtains, which were terrific.

Great, central location, and excellent value.

Last week, I attended a conference at the Holiday Inn and decided to stay at the hotel for three nights. My room had amazing views to the ocean and Magnetic Island. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. All staff were very attentive and made my stay very pleasant. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. Great location being only walking distance to the restaurant precinct at Palmer Street.

not much of a building to look at but the rooms are very tasteful and appropriate for the business traveller

I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were welcoming and helpful on check-in, the room was spotless and comfortable (I opted for a balcony room) the parking was so-so, being in a public parking building next door and, being on a motorcycle, I felt a little uneasy about parking in a building away from sight and with unrestricted access. However, my fears proved foundless and had no trouble.
The hotel is central to a lot of good restaurants and bars and is a short walk from Palmer St and the Casino.
Would stay here again.
