Booked over the phone, given "special rate"...no wonder! Paid $105 for one night - everything old and worn. Cracks in walls and tiles, carpet dirty underfoot, tv from the BETA days, reception bad. Aircon is a wall unit, rattles and shakes. Yet have the nerve to charge $5 for a bag of lollies!
Not recommended for very young children.

Paid AUD88 off a last minute website for this motel as it was for one night and we didn't have a lot of time to do research on our other choices in town. There was also no availability for other big name motel chains in town like the Best Western.

Strictly a run town motel on the far end of the Strand from the central region of the city. Although nominally clean, the room fixtures were very old. We are talking 70's era furnishings. Soiled carpets and old bathroom fixtures. One got the feeling that our large room was also used for storage of more old furnishings. TV worked and even had a remote! There was a slight mildewy smell in the room. Granted we were in the tropics but we have stayed in other hotels in the tropics without this problem.

Property was quiet with plenty of parking. Front staff were competent in that there was a system in place for late arrivals as we had unexpectedly arrived after the front desk was closed at 8:30pm.
