My family stayed at the apartments in Sept 2008, and whilst it was in a very convenient location and very well priced thanks to lastminute.com it was definatley in need of refurbishment.
The bathrooms and Kitchen both seemed tidy but dirty, with significant amounts of mould growing in the bathroom, and the carpets through out needing to be cleaned.
The downstairs pool and spa were a definate saviour for the kids but left us wondering how clean they were!

They didn't spoil our holiday, the staff were friendly and assisted us when ever they could.

We spent 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and had large 2 balconies; one on either side of the building. It's in a quiet location just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Surfers.

We stayed at Spectrum Apartments in Jan 07. The location was very good- faces Budds Beach (which is very peaceful and away from the noise). However it is still close enough (5 min walk) to the heart of surfers, shops,beach.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment & i was impressed with the size and also the 2 balconies which gave a very good view of the water.

My main disappointment was that the furnishings were pretty outdated eg old leather sofa, old bed, old wardrobes, old curtains,old fashioned decorations such as doilies, plastic flowers. It was a bit tacky and made me feel like i was staying with my grandma.The apartment needed new furniture, paint and a more modern approach. I expected more from a 'deluxe room'.

Also it didn't feel clean- I happended to push the bed aside & there was a lot of rubbish underneath. I didnt dare look under the cushions on the couch. The appliances also were a bit dirty & so were the plates/utensils. The bathroom was nothing special & also didnt look completely clean. eg remnants of hair, a little bit of grime/mold on fittings. I had to wash everything before I used it!
It just didn't feel completely hygenic staying there.

So overall the location was good. But more care needs to be taken with cleaning the place and freshening the place up. It put a bit of a dampner on things.

We stayed for a week at Spectrum Apartments in early Jan 2006 and had a wonderful time. Our apartment was a Deluxe apartment, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), a full kitchen and laundry plus undercover parking. It was very well appointed and attractively decorated. We also loved the large deck, with great views of Budds Beach and the river. There are also indoor & outdoor swimming pools (heated), a sauna etc.
The location was superb - just over the road from Budds beach - a lovely, peaceful beach, perfect for swimming. Our 6 month old baby had a wonderful time! It's also a 5 or so minute walk to the centre of Surfers Paradise, with its renowned surf beach, great shops and restaurants. Also a very handy supermarket. We found Spectrum Apartments to be a great place to stay and will certainly be returning in the near future.
