I stayed here over the weekend and booked at the last minute at 243$ dollars a night for a two bedroom apartment. The rooms were clean enough but there was no air-conditioning and one pedestal fan in one of the bedrooms. I didn't realize until we got there that air-conditioning cost extra and you needed to ask for it (along with the fox tell). We stayed there in January, and Queensland at this time is hot and humid. Unfortunately asking for the air-conditioning once you arrived on a satruday wasn't possible because the office/reception isn't open it would seem until Monday morning. We had to pick the keys up from a safe/drop box and the only instructions we were provided with were what not to do at the hotel e.g. Don't play loud music after a certain time etc etc. We had to make an educated guess with regard to where we should park and there are no lifts while I am all for women's independence walking up to the third level with our bags was exhausting. Overall, it felt as though we had booked ourselves into some sort of juvenille detention camp with all the rules, regulations and little about enjoying our stay. I might expect to find this in cheap accommodation where there might be problems with the 'types' of people that are staying there but at 243$ a night it was hardly cheap and it made me feel like they just assumed everyone that chose to stay there was a schoolie or something. To top it all off my friend left an expensive pair of shoes in I the room that have apparently disappeared....I phoned the hotel and was told that no shoes had been handed in. Both myself and my friend agreed that it is the worst place that we have ever stayed on the gold coast and we won't be going back.
