I was lucky enough to ask to see our bedrooms before we check in then decided to look for another place to stay, there was a bedroom with the door broken due to drunk people previous night, the lounge and kitchen area very messy and dirty, also...too far from Surfers Paradise.

We arrived to be greated by two overbearing hostel staff that asked us multiple times whether we wanted to 'party' and be involved with drinking games before we even checked in! They didn't want to show us to our grimy rooms which resembled a squatters house. the fans were moudly and didn't even turn on. The showers had no locks, perfect for all those hostel perverts. Disgusting. There are no lockers to keep your valuables. we were woken up in the middle of the night by bed bugs were which rampant in the bed. Were bitten all over. we all had to spend the night on the greasy floors. The owners said they would do us a 'favour' and upgrade us at no extra cost. What a great 'favour'. Overall a truly atrocious hostel. i hope to never see those revolting kiwi staff ever again.

We arrived in Gold coast airport and was picked up by the owner (Cliff) who seemed to be friendly but as we got talking turned out to be the biggest d***khead ever. We were told that our room was the nicest in the whole building and as he put "premier" with a tv and the lot.

As a young couple on a working visa he knew that we wanted work and would have liked us to work for him but at a price that i had to wear a low cut top and flirt with the guests and my boyfriend to flirt with the girls just to make him commission on selling tours and making the guests feel welcome!!

We got to our room which looked nothing like the website what so ever. The window was broken the tv was tiny the bed was hard with the flatest of pillows and the walls were paper thin so we could here everything including a very loud snorer and traffic. Breakfast was just crappy cereals!! nothing too great at all.

So we found an apartment for $10 more a night than what we paid at his which was amazing and right on the surfers beach. ( The Shore appartments) and we checked out after 2 nights with the owner dropping us off to a new hotel and telling us to go back to him to book tours so he could get commision ( I DONT THINK SO!!!)

So never go to this place if you can!

I've made a booking with them over email as my booking is abit messy. We arrive at the same time but some of us are leaving at different times. I asked if they understood what I asked for. They said yes.

I needed 1 twin room for just 1 night and they told me it is written in their booking form I needed it for 6 nights and they had to charge me for 6 nights. Which I wouldn't be paying for it as it is clearly written there only 1 night. So we had to argued that out awhile and they finally charged me for 1 night.

Next horror is it was during the schoolies week and it was NOISY! But I guess this is better if the common area were not so near the rooms.

I found out 2 days later they actually overcharged us. We were supposed to be there for 5 nights and they charged me 6 nights. So I asked them about it and the girl gave me a smirk and said "Oh, we don't do refunds". Although it was their mistake, I had to pay for it.

I guess people have to be extra careful with this place if they want to stay here. Especially when the staff are like money suckers.
