“Lovely hotel with fantastic views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

We stayed on the 14th floor and had a wonderful stay. We had 3 small balconies and all had fantastic views of the Nerang River. We were only there for 4 nights and basically had breakfast only and went out for our meals. Everything was clean and tidy and the beds very comfy. Our only complaint would be the sun coming in early in the morning as the blinds didn't quite cover the windows. One bathroom had a shower and the other a lovely small spa bath again with terrific views. The pool was heated to a lovely temperature and had the river in the background. It only took us a short walk to reach the main part of Surfers and a short drive to Broad Beach and theme parks.

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

Just returned from a weeks stay at these apartments with family of 5. Rooms are very small and in very poor condition. Most of the lights did not work, doors could not be closed due to their condition.
Ensuite did not have a shower at all, only a small spa.
Shower in bathroom was broken.
Definately will not be staying there again.

“Wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2009

My husband and I chose to get away for a week, as we had not long been married, and work committments had held us up. A friend had told us about this place and said, stay there you will love it, we just came back from there with our kids, and mum and dad. So we took there advice. When we rang up direct to book in, the guy that answered the phone, was very nice, and explained that they had just taken over the place, and his wife who runs the office, had just gone upstairs to get something, could i hold on, or could i get your number and get his wife to ph me back, before we decided, his wife came in the office, and he said, actually she is here now . I explained that we wanted to get away for a week and went over what the cost would be etc, We booked in, they organised a door to door pick up from the airport for us, which was great, as i didn't want to be paying a fortune, plus waiting around for hours , as our main goal was to rest, and enjoy our time away together.
When we arrived, the entrance was lovely, the new managers explained that the past managers had just done that within the last few months. The new managers Paul and Glenda, were very friendly, and explained that they were in the process of upgrading the place, , but they had done quite alot in the short time that they had been there. We were given our keys to the room, and Glenda explained to us, that the arpartments were self contained, and was currently in the process of talks with the owners of the units, about getting some rooms updated, and they have just had all the carpets cleaned throughout the whole place, and had a thorough spring clean through out all the rooms. Glenda explained you have a washing machine in your arpartment, and you can do your towels as well in the machine, but half way through your stay, we get the cleaners to come up and just give the place a fresh touch up, with fresh towels etc and make the beds with fresh sheets etc. We give you starter packs of washing powder and powder for the dishwasher, washing up liquid and fresh dishwashing cloths and scourers, also she told us that they have just updated the soaps, to ones that are covered and shampoo & conditioners, that are much nicer. Glenda said although these are self contained units, and the idea is to have enough stuff to get you started and then you purchase your own, but once the stuff runs out in the store room, we will then be putting out bigger starting packs, as they have travelled alot themselves and there is nothing more frustrating to arrive at a place where you get very small things to start off with, especially the milk, she said with a laugh, that is one thing she can't wait to run out of, as sometimes you need to use 2, to have a cup of tea, so if you need anything, please contact us, if it is after 5.30 just pick up the ph, and dial 9, and the after hours girls are lovely, and they will help you out, and if you need us, they will contact us straight away, if its an emergency. The pool is set at 30 but is still refreshing, so don't think that you are going to dive into a warm pool, she was telling us that they found out after they bought the place, that the heater in the pool was broken, and so was the lights, but they have had them fixed now and the pool has a beautiful blue light now and it looks magic of a night, she said at the moment they are waiting for their new updated books , to be put in each room, that explains everything, that will save our voice she said with a laugh, the BBQ AREA has a fridge in the cupboard underneath, went over the pool closing times with us and gave us our keys, and if we had any trouble with them, just come down , and we will re cut them for you, if you need anything just give us a call or come down to the office, were always around some where. We felt very welcomed, the rooms were very clean, and as Glenda"s husband explained just put the fans or the airconditioner on if you are going to cook, as well the vents on the stove, as sometimes the firealarms can be a little too sensitive at times, we have had it done to us , but we have worked it out to a t now, and if it does get a litlle smokey, just open all doors etc, and just let it get out as soon as possible, but we haven't had a problem with anyone since we took over on the 1st nov, it's basic commonsence, it's just like a house you just have to be careful, the spa is lovely you can have a nice hot bath, as long as its not that hot that you can't see yourself in the steam, once again it's basic commonsense.
throughout the week , we went walking up to the heart of surfers paradise, it only took about 10 minutes, but we were not in a hurry either, mainly strolling along. we had a great steak at the Surfers Paradise R.S.L. club. We spent some of the time going to movie world, dreamworld and seaworld, the rest of the time we lounged around the pool. They also have an internet desk in the foyer, that they have just put in, which was really handy. The only signs that we seen was one on the wall before you go out onto the deck, asking everyone nicely if they could please refrain from throwing cigarette butts and anything else over the balconies, at the bottom saying thankyou for your assistance, and one in the lift, as some kids get in and play in them, one at the front entrance for after hours arrivals, and one above the BBQ area asking everyone if they could put their rubbish in the bin and clean up after themselves, for the next people. The Managers do the BBQ and a big clean up ever morning. Through the week we got the chance to talk more with Glenda & Paul, and they told us that they will be having weddings here, and now that there getting the grass back, so after alot of work they are getting it back to where little ones can play on the grass, and kids can play games as well, they have alot of really good ideas and doing great things to the place, i would stay there again , no problem, would highly recommend you do the same, as we did we ,experience it now, you will be pleasantly surprised

cheers klemc

“Great family hotel”

Great hotel for the family. It is a bit old and worn around the edges but the staff and location are great.

Our room had a lovely view - probably the best being from the glass enclosed spa.

“Room 901 was good value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2009

Stayed in Room 901 for three nights two bedroom apartment whilst attending a conference at Surfers. It was basic and compact, but clean and comfortable. It was too cold to use the pools, but the spa was great.
The only downside was that the bathroom with the spa did not have a shower, so we had to share the other bathroom in the mornings.
Unless you're an avid walker you might need a car to get to the beachfront roads.
