There were no problems with the booking of this room which was done on the internet and the price quoted was the price charged. Now the trouble begins. Staff at admissions were indifferent to say the least, and instructions on how to reach the room, called a villa, were very offhand and when i queried the instructions I was handed a sheet with a very simple drawing. We set off for the room and I hope your car is not very large if you are staying in the best rooms as we were as the road to access the room was very labyrinthine, we have a smallish proton and getting into the park beside the room turned out to be best to reverse in which was acheived by driving into the parking space opposite then reversing back. Room smelt strongly of ammonia and vinegar, which was reassuring as we are not overly fond of harsh chemicals. Nice room with a kitchenette which we utilised as one visit to the restaurant in grounds was enough to dissaude us of going back there. The food was ordinary and took a long time to arrive though it was a simple order, grilled fish and medium steaks, the off putting thing was that i was seated near a wall down which were large food streaks and on looking up at the wall decorations, there were many cobwebs coated in dust. EEEWWW. The last straw was that on the night before leaving my daughter pointed out to me a notice on the wall which I had failed to notice. This notice informed me that I had to empty the inside rubbish bins and insert fresh liners, clean down all benches and the sink, ensure all crockery and cutlery were cleaned and replaced in their cupboards, ensure bathroom and spare bedroom were clean and tidy, strip any linen from beds that had been used and place all used linen and bath towels etc in a pile near the door. If these things were not done then a $50 surcharge would be made to our credit card. All the times that I have travelled and stayed, never before have I been made to clean the room. Never going to stay there again. I wonder though if the campers who stay in tent have to brush the grass to ensure it is all upright again or there will be a surcharge. We took photos of the notice and passed them to our friends, no staying there for anyone of our acquaintance.
