We moved here after staying at another apartment complex in Port Douglas, which unfortunately did not come up to our standards. We were so pleased with our spacious well equipped modern apartment with its huge balcony and furniture. No bats to speak of keeping us awake all night and the beautiful 4 mile beach a few steps away.

Yvonne and Chris were very helpful, especially when Quantas airlines were grounded the day before we were due to leave.

Apparently people return time after time to these apartments and we can undersand why.

The pool is not very big but it is pristine and big enough with comfortable furniture to relax in.

The other guests we met were quiet but friendly, which I think is what you want in an appartment block.

I would recommend these apartments if you expect clean, well furnished modern apartments with a four star feel.

We had only booked two weeks previously and knew little about the area but feel lucky to have found this nice, small, family friendly accommodation. It was a few steps to the beach, a few minutes walk to the shops and restaurants and immaculately clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was a very comfortable visit. I had checked tripadvisor and this was one of the few accommodations I had seen with no negative reviews at all!

Just a quick update to my prior review - our family stayed at Mowbray by the Sea in Port Douglas for the 3rd year in a row in July 2011. This time it was as a result of an aborted stay in Mission Beach. Mowbray by the Sea had availability and we were more than happy to drive the 3 and a bit hours north to return to Port Douglas. Chris and Lorna are fabulous - when we turned up, the apartment was even better than we hoped it would be. We've now stayed in 3 different apartments in the complex and all of them are well maintained, beautifully clean on arrival and have everything you need for a short or long stay. We'll definitely be back.

We moved to this hotel after a terrible few days at another highly rated Port Douglas hotel. After checking into this lovely place, we were very sorry that it took us so long to do so. The ground floor 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was clean, spacious, well equipped, not to mention well decorated. A huge bonus was the lovely private outdoor area which included a table, fan and small garden.

This hotel has a heated pool and is ideally located near the main street and beach.
