“Great location and very spacious and clean”

I've just celebrated my birthday with a 4 day holiday in Port Douglas. Even though I've lived here for 20 years, I've never before taken a break here. And it couldn't have been more enjoyable! Beaches is perfectly located right across the street from the beach and the stinger net - necessary for this time of year. We had a 2BR Ocean View, but the outlook from any of the apartments is terrific. One of the beauties of Beaches is its age - it was built in an era when developers weren't miserley with the space. I could have stayed at loads of other apartments for the same rate, but in many of the newer ones you can't turn around without touching the walls, the space is so tight. The bright, sparkling clean and spacious apartment was well appointed and certainly not stingy in it's supply of crockery, glasses, cutlery, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool too, the temperature of which we were pleasantly surprised was quite cool and refreshing for this time of year. It's just a short walk to town, and has all the information on tours and activities in the area. Thank you Lesley and team for a great stay!

Room Tip: Any of the styles of accommodation all have great outlooks over the pool and the beach.

“Wonderful Accomodation - Great Value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

We stayed here for 6 nights on a walk in rate. The apartment was roomy, bright, clean, pleasant. Leslie and the staff were very helpful, accomodating and outgoing.
No complaints here at all.

“Great location”

We stayed for 4 nights from 19 August 2011 in a two bedroom pool view room on the third floor. The location is great, right across the road from the beach and close to all the shopping and restaurants. The apartments are a bit dated but they are very spacious, provide everything you need and have nice views. The horseshoe shape of Beaches does mean that there is not much privacy in the rooms/on the balconies and noise does echo from the pool and other rooms. There is no lift so if you don't like climbing stairs or need wheelchair access, book a ground floor unit. The pool area was nice and the pool and spa heated. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are nicer than the pool view rooms. Ask for a room with a balcony that gets th...

“Really great location and excellent in almost every way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with balcony looking over 4 mile beach
It was quite and the sound of rolling waves made sleeping easy
The beach is only 50 m from the apartment and early moring and sunset walks were great
The lamost was it took 2 days to get a toilet leak fixed

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room - or your missing the point

“PERFECT LOCATION FOR FAMILIES”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was located on the ground floor, very convenient for families with young children which had direct access to the pool and to the beach and a short stroll to Macrossan St which was perfect. We found the apartment very spacious but we were a little disappointed as it was dated! Feature colour in lounge room was emarald green not great, it had a large kitchen but with basic cooking utensils, bathrooms were also dated with broken patch up tiles with a 90's renovation. Queen bed was a little uncomfortable and for the price you would expect a King size bed.
I expected the overall appearance of the apartment to be more contemporary, we felt it was a little over priced and well over due for a renovation!

Hope you find this helpful!
Regards
mmxe4

Room Tip: Every apartmement has a great view!
