Port Douglas is a lovely town and Macrossan House ideally placed to explore it. Located centrally in the main street but set back from the roadway it offers immediate access to all bars/restaurants & shops but without intrusive noise or activity. Our room was well equipped and with good quality furnishings, offering very comfortable accommodation. The swimming pool was most welcome after a hot day spent out & about, and the barbeque very handy for an al fresco meal after much restaurant food. If we had a criticism it would be that some items were offered as priced extras where generally available free elsewhere (room safes, pool towel) - but overall we would highly recommend Macrossan House for a quality stay and base to explore Port Douglas.

We were very impressed with how clean and quiet this place was. Even though it is on the main street in the heart of town (you could not get a better location for walking around Port Douglas) it was very quiet. It is family run and very friendly but professional. We would recommend this place to anyone and would certainly come back.

No complaints at all, apartment was just as advertised, perfectly clean and comfortable. Decent size aircon keeps the bedroom cool. Really well equipped kitchen right down to niceties like a caffetiere. Is 2 mins from local supermarket and on main street of port douglas (great town, nicer than cairns)

Right in the middle of Macrossan Street, you can pretty much walk everywhere in Port Douglass. Plus they have free underground parking. They had a plumbing issue when i was there, it made noises around 7am. But i talked to the owners about it and they had a plumber there same day. 1 AC unit located in the bedroom, it does a decent job of keeping up. No complaints otherwise. Trev pointed me in the right direction as far as diving goes also.
