We stayed at A Tropical Night the first night we arrived in Australia. It just so happened that we arrived on Christmas Day and therefore had concerns that no one would be around to let us into the unit. I called Damian, and he explained that while they would be busy Christmas day, they’d tape the keys to the door of the reception area. When we arrived the keys were just where he said they would be. My wife and I brought our three adult children and son-in-law with us on the trip, and Damian and Tania were kind enough to upgrade us into one of their three bedroom units. The units were all air conditioned and included cooking facilities, a large refrigerator, and a washer and dryer which came in especially handy with the subtropical humidity we experienced while we were there. While the units are about a mile from town, it’s an easy 10-15 minute walk and a 1-2 minute drive. It’s a great jumping off point to the Great Barrier Reef if you want a diving or snorkeling experience. Damian also had great tips on where to eat and get cheap drinks (with great sunset views). He also directed us North to Mossman George and on to Cape Tribulation where the paved road ends. There were unbelievable trails through the rain forest consisting of raised decking. A Tropical Night was a very nice place for an economical price, especially if you are traveling with a group of people.
