“Detailed Review of Facilities”

Self contained - has hot plates, microwave and larger sized bar fridge, didn't note if had frypan but presume that it would have (we didn't need so didn't need to use them)
Plates, cutlery, cutting board, toaster and kettle all provided
Has ceiling fans which keep it cool enough, has very good air con, the one day we used it, it cooled the unit in a very short time but the design means that you don't have to turn it on that often
Large shower, comfortable bed and plenty of power points for charging phones and iPads etc

Location is perfect - 2-3min to safe beach swim zone , right in the centre of Macrossen which is the only main street in Port Douglas and to be honest is where you need to stay if you want to be walking distance to all the pubs, restaurants in PD

We stayed in units on the pool level, which overlooked Macrossan St - with the doors to the large balcony shut it was quiet we didn't hear anything from the street - except at around 7am the council come with blowers to blow away leaves on the street, you can hear this, i was up before then, but my wife sleeps in and it didnt wake her, so not too loud.

Pool is not that big, but being a small complex was big enough and nice enough for a dip whenever we wanted to cool off, lovely spot overlooking great tropical gardens, has a BBQ for use and a couple of tables for eating outside

The Cafe/takeaway in Grant St is just outside the rear entry and has awesome Burgers, and Chips - perfect for a lazy lunch or dinner it's called "The Hot Pot" and is run by some lovely people

Would stay here again - in fact If we were to go back to PD in the future I would stay here no question

My daughter and I stayed here and we both loved it. it was like being at home. the apartment was very well maintained, the couple at the desk were really helpful and lovely. Pool is not very big, but good enough to cool off and relax. really great value for your money.

“Comfortable, centrally located gem.”

Perfect location - walking distance to most of Port Douglas. Apartment itself, spacious, comfortable, light and airy decor, with a balcony overlooking the pool. A real home away from home. Generously kitted out with everything you’d need. Lovely pool with adjoining bbq facilities which are generously provisioned and seating area with loungers. Off street parking was convenient.

Our hosts and their staff were helpful and welcoming. Each floor had plenty of informative brochures with no shortage of suggestions of things to see and do.
Handy supermarket a few minutes’ walk and off licence right next door. Sunday market has a lot of interesting things from opals, local crafts to fresh tropical fruits which are simply divine. There are so many interesting things around this region, we would recommend hiring a vehicle. PD location is not too far from Cairns, Kuranda, and in the north, Daintree, Cape Trib. What is really a worthwhile drive, is up to the Mossman Gorge which is truly beautiful. Take your swimming gear as there are lovely waterholes.

Lovely shops, great bargains, staffed with helpful friendly people. The locals are lovely, plenty of restaurants to suit all budgets. Very relaxing laid back place to visit.

Room Tip: Patio is wanting easy access to the pool but balcony if you like a little more privacy.

“good location,”

We stayed here for 3 days late November .The place is well positioned in the centre of Macrossan . It was a bit surprising to find the reception was on the street.
We had requested a room overlooking the pool, initially we were shown to room overlooking the street but this was changed at our request. The apartment we stayed in Number 10, seemed suitable for disabled guests the only downside was there was no gate to close off the patio from the general terrace area. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped. The room configuration of sliding doors separating living and sleeping areas.seemed strange to us The pool was lovely perfect for cooling off and easily accessible from our room. There was a barbeque set up for guests to use
The apartments had a laundry room with washing machine and dryer both cheap to use and essential when you have been travelling for a month
, Rae and Gordon, who managed the apartments were very helpful and knowledgeable giving information about the local area, places to see and trips to take .

On arrival we were told of the "stingers" in the sea and to swim only within the netted area To us Brits this was good information as we are unaware of any such hazards within the UK and Europe.

Room Tip: overlooking the pool, 1st floor if you want easy access to the pool

“Modest apartment but hits right spots!”

Spent 4 days here with my partner in mid November. Apartment was spacious with balcony overlooking main street - this a positive if you like to watch the world pass by (which we did). Couple managing were very friendly and helpful. Being in centre of Port Douglas was a big plus with everything in walking distance. Small pool and deck area - very pleasant to cool off, but not good for serious swimmer. Ideal as a base to explore Port Douglas and it's environs.

Room Tip: if you like to watch world pass by, ask for room with balcony overlooking main street.
