Stuck in the 80's but in a cool way! Cheap, large, rooms with a great outdoor kitchen. Very nice reception man. Very Hugh heffner type pool and spa. Great value for $105 a night. Would stay again for sure!

I was travelling with my cousin and when we checked in we were told to take the lift to the 2nd floor and then walk up a flight of steps to the 3rd floor! When we eventually found the apartment - it was something left behind from the 70's - we had booked a one bedroom apartment with twin beds only to find a double bed - we couldn't get out of there quick enough - don't get taken in by the website - none of the rooms looked like what we had. We were very lucky as we had booked the "deal" through a travel company and they transferred the money we paid to a lovely resort in Palm Cove - we were very happy there! This was our second stay @ Club Tropical, and have to say 1 week wasn't long enough.Our stay last time was in the three bedroom apartment which although was huge, needed a bit of work doing to it.This time we had a two bedroom @ the front room 123, wow awsome! My husband& i & our two teenage girls had a great time .The staff were very helpful & friendly.It has a great pool & spa which we all enjoyed especially the girls.Port Douglas is beautiful & safe for the girls to shop & wander around ,& Club Tropical is in a top spot ,close to everything. We will be back for sure !( But take my own pillow next time } The only gripe

My partner and I have stayed at the Club Tropical Resort many times over the last two years. The location is excellent. The Resort is right across the road from the beach and the Sunday markets. Just a short walk from the fully self contained apartments is the Courthouse Hotel - an iconic norht Queensland pub, and a range of restaurants. Our favourite is Bistro 3.

We have always stayed in the refurbished rooms and have never been disappointed. Beautiful beds, furniture, a wonderful balcony and all the mod cons. I personally love the bathrooms - deep spabaths and mirrors make it wonderfully romantic.

The staff have been nothing but helpful. We stayed in the 'down' season one weekend and were upgraded to the beautiful honeymoon suite and were required to pay no extra. That made our weekend memorable.

Make sure you ask for a refurbished room and you will enjoy your stay!
