If you are traveling to see the Great Barrier Reef in Australia....this is a must stay place. Pay the extra for the harbour view and it will be well worth the price. We had a fantastic suite with dining room, kitchen, huge balcony overlooking the harbour. Our bedroom even had huge windows overlooking the boats in the harbour. Go down to the harbour level for a myriad of restaurants to choose from or walk to town (right there) for a beach full of entertainment and great eating spots. I loved CAIRNS (pronounced Cans)!!!

I'm a regular patron of the Harbour Lights. Have stayed there 3 times in the last 3 months. The one bedroom apartments are great and the service at reception is excellent. If you can afford to, avoid the studio rooms. You can get better value elsewhere in Cairns if you only want a hotel room. They are small and a bit bare. Generally the apartments are a nice size and have all the amenities you need. My most recent room was 321 and the kitchen and living area was huge!

Definitely recommend this place for those wanting to cook for themselves or just a bit more space near the waterfront.

Would stay at this Hotel many times ! It is close to everything, downtown shopping, cruises, scuba diving and all other sites. The Resturant is wonderful, but so are all the places along the boardwalk, which this hotel sits drirectly on. This hotel is beautiful inside and out with great service and friendly staff.

I recently had the pleasure of spending one night in this beautiful hotel and only wished that it could have been longer. On booking I was automatically upgraded to a one bedroom apartment with a wonderful view over the city and water. It had absolutely every facility required, very spacious and tastefully decorated. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. I am about to move to one of Cairn's northern beaches, but will find the excuse to stay here if I need to stay overnight in the city. Put this on your list of must stay hotels!!
