“Not to bad a place to be. Good price!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

The reception needed to be reminded to clean the bed sheets. The fridge leaked when we first got there but it took a couple of days for the repair man to come and have a look at it.

Over all for the price I would recommend the villas which are around the pool and queenslanders which are around the pool.

I would of liked a security door on the front door so that I could of had the main door open and let the fresh breeze in. Also a line to dry your clothes in the carport at least would of been great. This is the only thing I think of to add.

Laundry needs a lot of work to be done to it. There was only two washing machines working and two dryers. The ironing board was broken and there was no iron. On one occasion the locks to the laundry were super-glued and you had to go to the other laundry where the permanent residents live.

“horrible, yucky and disgusting”

Me and my family stayed here and we thought when we arrived we will have a nice stay because the place from the entrance looks good u know then the receptionist that entertained us was a lovely lady but we only saw her once and never again for some reason i don't know. When she gave us a map of the place I was stunned how far we have to walk going to the cabin then I thought the park was very busy because too many guest already in the other cabins. But then the next morning after our first night of stay we heard someone screaming and swearing fighting outside and then cops came we were amazed for what we saw. Then the bloke staying beside our cabin told my husband that the area where we are is actually what they called the "Broncs" where all the bad people are staying fighting and stubbing. So when we learned about that we decided to upgrade our room or moved in other room close to the main entrance but the room we thought will be quiet and peaceful is still the same couldn't get any sleep because people outside are noisy. Same us the 1st room we got, the 2nd room is dirty, the doors is falling a bits and cobwebs on the ceiling, we can't locked the door properly the curtains looks like haven't been wash for a long time. Another disgusting there is the little bridge they have which is stagnant the water full of leaves so the mosquitoes breeding on it that is why I was so worried for my babies. The worst thing we encounter there is the disrespectful attitude of the big fat lady we talked in the reception when we are upgrading our room. She was nasty as anything I reckon she shouldn't be in that business she will shoo the customers away. Well if you are looking for a relaxing, clean and enjoyable stay don't you dare try to stay here in Cairns Villa this place is your worst nightmare ever.....

“simple, clean and spacious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

Stayed with a group of 37 and mostly young women. all group members stayed in the villas. Although the rooms are very simple, we found them to be efficient, clean and certainly adequate for our needs. If something was in need of repair or replacement the staff was quick to respond provided it was during office hours. The only negative we found was that there was no one around after hours if we needed anything. The cafe was excellent and had great food for a reasonable price. We had daily breakfast and two dinners. The owners of the cafe are separate from they park and are incredibly friendly, flexible and efficient. We felt in no way unsafe in the area. Although we always traveled in groups of four or more we walked many places locally and even at night. Another plus is the location, a shopping center and several restaurants are in walking distance and the bus stop is directly in front of the park and is less then 20 minutes into town. In summary, Cairns Villas is a budget park, don't expect a 4 star hotel. it is a great value in an otherwise very expensive city. For a large group it was great!

My partner and I met up with family members for a reunion, thank goodness we have a great sense of humour as this park was the worst I have stayed, one unit, power went out all taps leaking keeing us all awake, tiles all broken, one unit had a knife another didn't so we had to share cutlery and crockery. Couples fighting late into the night till after 2am.I will never stay again and will recommend to all friends not to stay.
