I was booked into the Best Western Central Apartments for work and was pleasantly surprised by the space and comfort of the apartment. The apartment was fitted out with everything I wanted. Pool was small but very pleasant for an early morning swim. Close to the Esplanade and to my favourite Balinese restaurant. Rooms are quiet, no street noise. Would be equally as good for a holiday (without kids) as it was for work. Highly recommended.

The rooms were fine for our needs. Clean, spacious enough and with a balcony. My TV didn't get the pay tv sport and movie channels that the others got but we weren't there long enough to worry about that or even mention it to the staff.

Location is good. Walking distance to bars, casino and Reef Terminal.

Was there 3 nights and room didn't get cleaned or new towels provided. That could be improved.

Rooftop pool is quite small but we used it once and it did the job. Didn't use the spa. The car park was handy as well.

The older woman on the desk was helpful but also a bit abrupt. They booked our tours for us once we worked out what we wanted.

All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

I stayed there for 2 nights when I was in Cairns for my friends' wedding.
It was a very nice hotel with very nice rooms and services.
And the view from the room I stayed in was amazing with the city and the mountain background.
A bit strange though they closed the reception at 2 pm. I wonder how if some people need to book or check in after 2pm.
But overall, it was a nice experience there.

The one bedroom apartment we had was great, spacious, air conditioning and fans, separate bedroom. Shame no lift so had to walk up 4 flights of stairs.
Disappointed in the toilet that kept running and then refilled with a loud whoosh (when your bed backs onto the toilet wall it is VERY loud) so we would turn the tap off so that it would not fill and keep waking us up. Let the managers know, and he tried to fix. When still did it, let him know again, he comes back most peed off and says it's not possible, he fixed it. Crap service from him, wife okay tho.
Our unit was on road frontage, can be noisy with doors open, but a great outlook.
A fair walk to the shops in town, about 1.5 km. But if you have a car, it's fair,y cantorial and easy to get north and south.
