I have traveled to Australia on two different occasions and have returned to this hostel in Cairns. The staff is incredible, (they even remembered my name after two years) friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy with comfortable beds, the costs are low and it's location is perfect. It's a short walk to the main strip with bars and restaurants along the way. The hostel has a variety of pamphlets regarding activities in the area, they will set up activities for you, they will let you store your bags in their room free of charge if you will be away overnight and they have two wonderful kitchenettes with everything you could ask for. Not to mention the pool, pool table and many computers with access to the internet. I love this hostel and recommend it to everyone traveling within the area.

Such a great hostel and really good rates too. Even the doubles are cheap, so if you after your own space after too many dorms, this is a cheap place to do it. We had a 4 bed dorm just for our group of 3 which was nice of them. The staff are the biggest asset to the place, with Paul shocking everyone by greeting them by name. He didn't even check us in but saw us for 30 secs at reception and remembered! It's not the most modern but it is very very clean and has heaps of character. The pool is clean (rare in a hostel) and perfect for the cairns weather. Its close to the lagoon and the main area, and you get a free meal each evening at a backpacker bar.
Don't stay anywhere else! It's the best in cairns!

Great location & super friendly staff. The hostel has a great atmosphere and is really good for meeting new people. Unfortunately we couldn't extend our stay because they were all booked up! The manager Paul is a really nice guy, we saw him a few days after we checked out & he still remembered our names & said hello! the hostel is clean & has a good kitchen.

This hostel was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful, as well as flexible which was good. We were able to extend our stay with very little notice.
We had a private room which was great, there was AC, a fridge, it was clean, and it was pretty quiet.

This hostel is not a big party hostel like some others. We were able to avoid all of the usual shananagins that go on in Australia hostels. People still hang out and drink and talk about how they planned to be in Australia for 3 months but now they've been here for 2 years, are running out of money and are making tomato soup from stolen ketchup and hot water, before they scuttle off to the bar. But once they are gone its nice and quite.
