We went 18 days in Australia. We went to Sydney, we camped in Alice Spring and Darwin and finished in Cairns in Half Moon Bay resort. We were so well welcomed by Helen, our room was perfect, we had a small kitchen, but so clean with everything we needed. What I really liked was the service and the cleanliness. What I didn't know when I booked was that we were at 20 minutes from Cairns the center. So we had to take the bus if we wanted to go in town. But I have to say it's part of the adventure. The resort is in Yorkeys Knob, a small village. We can walk from the resort to a small cafe, a grocery store, a liquor store, ... all we need to have a great moment.

Stayed here for a week..definitely has an ant problem, that could just be the environment..BUT the room is awesome for the value and easy to get to Cairns city if you have a car.

My sister and I rented two bicycles at the hotel. It's good for going to the supermarket if you don't drive. Good to go around the small town leisurely.
We did the laundry in our room.
A small problem is there are ants in the kitchen and bathroom.
There is a small barbecue stove, and we used it in the small balcony too.
We enjoyed having dinner at the golf course despite the mosquitoes bite. Great food.
Very resonable price too. The best hotel among the three hotels throughout our Australia trip.

We spent our first night in Oz at the Half Moon Bay and I wish we'd stayed longer. Ellen and Rick, the owners, could not do enough for us. Even before we arrived they were great at providing information via email and remained just as helpful when we were there, helping to arrange transport on to our next destination. The room we stayed in was great and even had a full kitchen, washing machine and dryer in. I short I could not fault the place and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
