The hotel staff was very friendly and informative, the aroma coming from the restaurant smelled scrumptious; unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to check it out. The location of the hotel was within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, grocery store and the jetty. If you are a beer drinker, we liked the Courtyard Café (Sheridan St) cheap buckets of guess what…..Corona’s!
The hotel was in the process of renovation, we apparently stayed on a floor that wasn’t started yet. Room was old looking, and even worse the coffee pot still had water in it from the last vacationers along with a bunch of gnats flying around it.
We stayed two nights in Cairns then rented a car and drove to Port Douglas to see the Daintree Rainforest. The drive was beautiful; you could pull off along the side of the road and be the only ones on the beautiful beaches. We should have switched and stayed two nights in Port Douglas
