Being our first trip to Cairns, we were impressed with the location of this hotel! It was within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, a grocery store, casino, beach area (hmmm...maybe a better description is a beachy type area lol). It was also close to the airport. We definitely did not think a rental car was necessary for the amount of time we were there. I even remember during the morning pickups (for one of the day tours we did) how spread apart they were, there are hotels all over that area but the Pacific is definitely centrally located. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the Brazilian restaurant there had fabulous food. We had a balcony - the view was so so but you can't beat the fresh air so we are always happy with a balcony!

The Pacific Internnational Hotel is a personal favorite--well trained and very helpful staff,perfect location --and one of my top 5 Cairns restaurants.
We eat there whenever we are in town,unlike most other cities where we leave the hotel for a local restaurant. The wait staff are attentive and happy, and the food -especially the Brazilian barbecue menu is an experience not to be missed--and at an excellent price I might add--you can dine in style while watching the local scene throught the windows.
We have recently moved back to Carns after 10 years in Sydney, but its a restaurant we always take Cairns visitors to , especially if its a group.

When it comes to good quality accommodation this hotel is well worth the money in Cairns. Location is fantastic as is the price and facilities available. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Travel regularly and would stay here again.

There is no shortage of excellent hotels in Cairns. so for me it comes down to a combination of inputs – – comfort, price, facilities, and location, location, location as they say in the real estate business.

The Pacific and the National hotel was again my choice, and I was not disappointed. It has been beautifully refurbished in good taste, and my room was excellent in every way, spacious, clean, comfortable, good bed, and a great view across the Cairns waterfront. It is also within walking distance of many of the best restaurants in Cairns, over the road from the casino, a short distance to the shopping centre and waterfront restaurants, and so I found myself drawn to it again on this visit. The Bushfire Grill located in this hotel is one of my favourite eating places, and it would be hard to find a better location. The one downside was that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms – – just cable connections for one's computer – – and so I could not use my iPad to read the newspapers from home. Hopefully they will address that.

But apart from that little problem it is my favourite hotel in Cairns and I keep going back there again.
