when i booked online i asked how much deposit is required to secure my booking for a week , i was told one day deposit is fine, they took of the amount for the whole week.
because we arrived late from overseas they emailed me with a sec code for the outside safe where they would put our key in.
we arrived but no key, ring the button and no one on site, some one came 5 min later on a scooter, very rude, ask for credit card or he would not let us in.
the room has aircon but for it to work you have to pull it apart and clean the dust out , looks like it hasnt been serviced for 6 years, there is mould and dust and dirt every where, staff are very rude, phone not working, have asked 3 times for another phone, no luck.
very upsetting for the 3 of us, this place should be locked up and throw the key away.

Motel was very far away from the city center. It took us a good 20 minutes to walk into the main area of town. Service was a bit rude, but we didn't really care too much. Room wasn't as clean as I would have liked, but it was good enough. The AC was cold. Everything in the bathroom functioned. I was a bit disturbed that my ground floor unit had a window in the bathroom that didn't have any coverings. So technically somebody from the street can just peek inside while you're doing your business in the bathroom.

The staff is not welcoming at all, the room was old with mould everywhere and everything seems rusty. For some reasons the Aluminium bin seemed that it hasn't been cleaned for years ( see disgusting photo). On our second day, they didn't even bother making and cleaning the room, they just put some fresh towels... I am actually not sure the people in the hotel understand the meaning of "cleaning" When I went to complain, the response I had was that there were nothing they can do about this...
The location is far away from the city centre and the motel is very noisy. Your hear the neighbour as if they were next to you and All the cars are literally parked 5 meters in front of all the rooms, so from 6:30 in the morning, you can hear all the cars starting up engine one after the others and people leaving; there is no way you can sleep past this time. If you happen to be on the ground floor you also get all the smoke of the cars in the room.
You get charged if you check in before 12PM and you also get charged if you check out after 10AM...

Overall a very poor experience in a very low standard motel that I wouldn't recommend unless your are desperate for a room

I stayed here for a couple of days upon arriving in Cairns. The room was tiny and quirky in a good way. No real complaints, as I was on my own and I was outside most of the time anyway it was more than adequate for what I needed it for: sleep (it was quiet) and shower (good). The room was clean and staff helpful.
My only small complaint was that as I was on foot it is a bit of a walk to the center of town, but not too far that you couldn't walk it. But quickly nipping back was not a good idea. But then again, that's why it probably fitted into my budget as well.
