“good location, but very noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

perfect location to all Kangaroo Piont attractions, first stayed on the road side, traffic noise was unbrearable, second stay, stayed at the back away from the road, but near common areas, BBq, smoking and conference rooms, floor to ceiling windows facing these area's made privacy a concern, in town for work, not to play and didn't apprecaite the constant noise and interuptions. From other guests comming and going. Staff very helpful, rooms modern and comfortable, not happy about the so called secured car parking, open during the day, and from 10pm tpo 6 am, locked. Can't get the car in or out in those hours. No other arrangements can be made or arranged. Won't say no to staying here, but certainly won't be my first choice.
And certainly wouldn't be recommended to stay more that 2 nights. 2 seperate visits didn't sleep well in either room, either side of the hotel.

“Close to Kangaroo Point Attractions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

The staff were only too helpfull in giving advice on the local attractions and we had a great couple of days. The Riverlife Adventure Centre, Story Bridge Adventure Climb, SouthBank, GOMA and the City Cats filled our Weekend in Brisbane. Then we headed to Tangalooma for the final day - Great trip with Adventure Moreton Island. Thanks Econo Lodge for the great advice and good sleep

“Great location, good value!”

Stayed here recently out of convenience for business and was pleasantly surprised. Econo Lodge isn't pretty from the outside, however the room wasn't bad. It was well maintained, and had everything and more than what you'd expect for the price. Best feature of this place, is definitely the location- only a short walk down to the Brisbane River. On a morning walk, went past an old building- Riverlife where staff were setting up kayaks and other boards to go on a the river. I visited again after a meeting, and was a perfect end to my day spent in board rooms. Would highly recommend Riverlife to anyone staying locally for business.

“Clean, simple but noisy”

The Econo Lodge was a 'last resort 'hotel alternative when a last minute business trip found a virtually full Brisbane CBD. The hotel is well run with a professional reception desk. The rooms I stayed in was spacious, with a queen and single bed, a small table two chairs and adequate storage. The room had a 40 inch Samsung LCD which included some Foxtel channels.

There's a nice pub next door (The Pineapple) and a couple of good asian restaurants within 200 metres. A ten minute walk gets you to the river walk and all that Southbank has to offer.

Apart from the somewhat dated rooms, the hotel's biggest drawback is that many of the rooms are very close to one of the main roads out of the Brisbane CBD (Main St). I am a heavy sleeper, but got woken early by the traffic noise. Also there's a shared kitchen which is more akin to a camping ground or backpackers lodge than a good hotel.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, but remind me of a 1960's highway motel - if you are OK with that, and can get a room away from Main St, there is no reason not to stay here. Great if you are attending the Gabba or anything around Southbank.

Expect a country style motel and you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from Main St.

Nice modern and clean room, but shared kitchen really awful. This motel seemed to be more suited to business travellers rather than families. Was in a good location though and easy walk to river etc.
