I have found this lovely serviced apartment simply by googling. It turned out to be a memorable place to stay.
My unit was 2 bedrooms, 2 bath rooms, and 2 balconies. The kitchen & lounge were facing east overlooking Brisbane River.
I couldn’t wait to wake up every morning to do my daily yoga and meditation to see the beautiful sunrise reflecting on the water.
I sat on my own very private balcony had a breakfast watching a little ferry pass by. What a blessed way to start a day.
The unit had everything I needed.
Hair dryer, basic kitchen utensils, pot and pans, a few little containers to store some muesli etc, enough dishes, cups, TV with DVD, air con and the weekly cleaning service was excellent.
The Bridgewater Terraces was managed by this very lovely friendly couple Lesley and Wayne. They were super efficient and very helpful and always I had prompt responses to my enquiries.
The dedicated gardener was doing wonderful job. The gardens + our surrounding were always so tidy and clean it as all looked after very well.
The complex had a Pool, Sauna, Spa, a little gym. The little oasis like a tropical garden setting with a beautiful trees/palms, a little water creek is running through between the apartments. I felt very much I was in my second home. Abundance of beautiful birds was everywhere, and I saw even the water dragons running around.
The location is really excellent. City or a little shopping village in New Farm, China town, Fortitude Valley, South bank, Botanical garden, all close enough to walk and of course it was very handy to have a easy ferry access from 3 wharfs (Dock side, Holman St, Thornton St,) nearby Bridgewater Terraces.
Thanks again for the warm hospitality to the all people who look after the place.
For anyone considering a visit to Brisbane for first time I would highly recommend the Bridgewater Terraces. Speak to the Lesley (in reception) or Rayoni (the owner of the Bridgewater Terraces) as they will bend over backwards to assist you to make sure your stay will be comfortable. I will definitely be back again for sure.
Extra info re the Bridgewater Terraces area
New Farm
Nice little shopping village (library (internet access), cafés, hardware shops, organic health food shop, local grocery, Coles, post office etc)
Power house <the funky event venue> (Nice restaurant, café, park)
=To get to New Farm
Use back door to get out to the river side, walk along the river catch a small city ferry from Dock Side to cross the river to the Sydney St. (First stop)
Walk alone the river through the park to get to the Power house or turn left on the Brunswick St, to the shopping village. You can also walk straight down the Sydney St, turn left on the Brunswick St to get to the shopping area.
Either way is not too far to walk.
Brisbane City & Botanical Garden
Catch a ferry from Thornton St, to Eagle St pier. (First stop) takes less than 10 mins.
Or you can walk over the Story Bridge.
You will be surprised at how everything is so close and easy to access.
Brisbane is a surprisingly clean and compact city.
South Bank
I have walked many times from Bridgewater Terraces to South Bank along the river. It is a very pleasant easy walk along the water.
The walk has been clearly divided into sections for car, bike, and a pedestrian walk.
South bank is still part developing but it is such a nice place to just chill out after work as it is only one bridge away from centre of the city. You can cross the Victoria Bridge within 10 mins. There is a neat man made beach called Street Beach.( you will see the life saver!)
A lot of cafes, restaurants, also the night market.
Theatre, Library, Event venues, Art Gallery, Maritime museum, in all one area.
TAFE, QUI, all very close by.
