I stayed at the Sapphire Resort for 6 nights by myself to attend a work related course. I chose this hotel due to its close proximity to the course venue and for its very reasonable price (<$100/night).
On arrival, the front desk was efficient, polite and able to answer my questions. There was no delay in being served. I didn’t expect a hand with my luggage given the price I was paying, the limited luggage I had and the fact the desk was staffed by only 1 person. There are 3 levels to the hotel (including ground)- so just be mindful of booking a top level room if you have difficulty getting up stairs. There are no lifts. Breakfast is not included.
The room was a good size and appropriate facilities. My room had a queen bed, small fridge, kitchen sink, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, TV, alarm clock, a small table and a balcony. The ensuite was reasonably basic with a shower/bath, toilet, wash basin and hair dryer. All facilities were clean and in good working order. But there wasn’t much else. I think the addition of some basic cutlery and dishwashing detergent would have been very useful.
One notable feature is that the hotel does have regular movies playing on the TVs. Whilst there isn’t a large choice and times are fixed, I found this to be very useful. The room was certainly quiet and I had no difficulty sleeping as a result of noise.
The hotel also has laundry facilities (pay washer and dryers) and a basic kitchen facility on the ground floor. There is also a pool in the hotel. There are 2 restaurants attached to the hotel. I didn’t use any of these facilities during my time here.
The location of the hotel is very good. I regularly walked into the city (distance ~ metres), and there is a small shopping centre (including a Coles) a short distance away. I didn’t use any public transport during my stay.
The only real downfall of this hotel was the quality of the housekeeping. Whilst the room was serviced daily, you will need to request that bed linen be changed- otherwise will just put the same linen back on. This issue regarding reusing bed linen didn’t worry me. But given the time and effort they spent making the bed I wonder why they even bother. There appeared to be no housekeeping other than throwing the sheets back over and changing of towels. If I was there with my wife we would have certainly requested daily linen changes.
Overall I would certainly stay here again if travelling by myself. The hotel represents very good value for money in a very good location. Just don’t expect to get more than what you paid for- this is no 4 or 5 star luxury resort.

Dear MerlsWA,
I would like to thank you for your feedback posted on Tripadvisor.
Please note that there are only limited stock of dish washing liquid, shampoo etc available in our rooms, we are happy to provide guests with some more on request.
Although there is no cutlery in the rooms, we have them stored at reception and we are happy to provide it to guests if required.
As proud of being a Green Star property, our housekeepers don't change the linen in our rooms every day unless it has been requested.
Again, I would like to thank you for your feedback and we hope you had a great time in Brisbane.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future.
Kindest regards,
Melinda
