Before leaving for Brisbane, I read through the reviews on Trip Advisor, and found the reviews for Park Regis, North Quay in Brisbane very mixed. I was a little dubious about booking, but my partner and I are now very glad we did book to stay there. We had a room on the 20th floor which overlooked the River Brisbane. We could see the lights of the city centre and out to South Bank - just beautiful. The apartment itself was tastefully decorated; certainly not dirty or moldy; and the bed very comfortable. Having a 1 bdm apartment meant we had a bit more space, a kitchenette with a dishwasher and a washing machine. I would say the only complaint we would have is that the TV reception was not fantastic, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel room (we spent 2 nights there) so it wasn't a big problem for us. The bed was large and very comfortable. Also - the room was nicely air conditioned, which, arriving in Brisbane on the hottest January day for 8 years, was an absolute God send. The day after arriving, the temperatures dropped which allowed us to walk around the city. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city central business district. The girls on reception couldnt've been more helpful (particularly Kaila) who told us of great places to have dinner and what we should see, printed maps to help us, etc. We had a hire car, and were able to park in the basement of the hotel. Our flight didn't leave until the evening of Friday 13th, and we had to check out by 10 am - but the staff advised that it was ok for us to leave our car in the carpark at no extra cost for a few extra hours, giving us a chance to walk around and kill some time before having to drive to the airport.
