It was my mistake for wanting to cheap out with the room selection, I would have been better off for sure if I didn't book the budget room which was located on the 8th (top) floor of the hotel.

The room was un-carpeted and felt quite unclean. There was even left over tissue bits in the bathroom from a previous customer.

There was loud noises at night from the airconditioning unit on the roof just above our room and the bedside light switch buzzed all night as if it's going to short circuit. This kept me from getting a good night's sleep.

Overall it wasn't a pleasant experience, although the staff was very friendly and restaurant downstairs had a reasonably good buffet breakfast. We stayed one night and found our room comfortable and clean. It was a bonus having a free car parking space in the hotel car park at the rear.
We walked all round Brisbane from the hotel and had a glass of wine from our balcony at the front of the hotel.
There is a great little park up the hill with lizards and exotic plants. Well worth a look and make sure you go to the Southbank in the evening.
Have stayed in two metro hotels and recommend them highly

We stayed overnight and were impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of our room. We had a small balcony from which we could see the leafy park and Brisbane's oldest building, the Tower Mill, opposite. At night the city lights were like a fairyland below!The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful whilst an adjacent cafe/bar looked very welcoming although we didn't use it this time. We walked into the city and back on our day of arrival and to the Art Gallery the following morning with just a little effort on the return trip up the hill.

Stayed 5 nights from August 14th. Due to early plane arrival we arrived before official check in time, and as a room was available we were given it straight away which was greatly appreciated, also fresh milk. The lady Receptionist (didnt get her name but she originally came from Essendon) and Jason were very obliging & pleasant. Free Bus to down town at door was great. Also close to Roma Street, (an ideal location for what we wanted). There was no noise and the beds very comfortable. Would have no hesitation in staying there again when we return next year.
