We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the cruise terminal and airport. We were looking for a reasonably priced chain hotel.
We arrived about 9:30 AM after a series of flights from Eastern Canada. Thankfully the hotel was able to accommodate an early check-in. Reception was quick and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was quite large and came well equipped with essential housekeeping items as well as a stocked mini-fridge. The room was very clean throughout and the bed was comfortable with a soft foam mattress. The hotel has a very small elevator which must be accessed by two steps. It may be difficult for a challenged individual to access. There is a restaurant on site but unlike most North American Choice hotels breakfast is not included in the price. We had a room away from the busy Kingsford Smith road which was quite quiet
.
There is a very small pool with two chairs and one table. There are no ice machines and the front office makes it difficult to acquire ice. There is a complimentary washer and dryer available for guests. WiFi is available for a fee, 45 minutes for $3. Avoid the hotel phone. I was charged $4 for a local call and over $25 for a 10 minute call to Canada.
There are numerous restaurants, bars, local grocery stores and a BWS within 4 blocks of the hotel. A short walk gets you to the Brett’s wharf to board the City Cat ferry service. It was our intention to walk to the cruise port pulling our luggage. Good intention but we got a ride.
Great location and good value for our needs.
