Before i made my booking, i was reading the reviews. Majority of the reviews are not good. It made me think twice if i should proceed booking for 2 nights. Well I'm glad I did.. We enjoyed our stay in a 2 bedroom apartment on 27th floor. The apartment is roomy with 2 bathrooms, kitchen, big balcony and reasonable view.

The check-in was really quick. The hallway has got that unusual smell but it did not worry us a bit. After a long day, we relaxed in the heated spa and it's really refreshing.

Many complained about supply of soap, shampoo, hand towels. Somehow i was made aware of this when i read the notes on the hotel website about available amenities. So i brought our own. No worries.. Suggest to read the notes on the hotel website before complaining.

Secure Parking is good for $20 a night and I believe the price is reasonable. Everywhere you go in the Brisbane city, you need to pay a parking fee.

The hotel is centrally located, walking distance to the Southbank, shops, malls. Restaurants are within short walking distance. There's even nice coffee shop at the entrance of the hotel.

In summary, we enjoyed our stay and we will stay in IStay Rivery City should we go back to Brisbane.

Not a bad place and well located, but bring your own provisions. They don't supply shampoos or anything as, according to them, it is a "non-serviced" apartment. But even the soap was missing. Reception happily supplied some, but it was just as well they were still open.

It was a smallish 1 bedroom apartment, but well located. Cleaning was a little below par; views general city views; and it is not on the river as the hotel name may imply.

We had a terrible experience with I-Stay. In October 2011 we checked in for four nights but we left after one night because we weren't satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, the noise in the hallway and the fact that the in-room laundry facilities were not working. The manager assured us that we would only be charged for one evening but ended up charging us for four despite having the hotel's assurance in writing.  We wrote to I-Stay's corporate office but have had no reply. We seriously warn against staying at I-Stay!

On the weekend of New Years Eve my wife and I stayed at the Istay River City Apartments. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which had all the comforts of home. The apartment was very spacious and clean with a good size balcony which would easily accomodate 6 - 8 adults. The location of these apartments is ideal whith close access to the Gardens & River walks as well as being a short walk from Southbank and the Queen Street Mall. We thought the prices for that time of year were reasonable without being cheap?
We would certainly stay at this hotel again.
