I used to regularly stay at the M on Mary when it first opened. The service was excellent, the room standard was great and I enjoyed the convenience of the location and parking.

How things have changed! The property is very, very tired, with serious maintenance issues and the kind of ground-in dirt that comes from too much wear and not enough cleaning. I had a client booked in at the same time that I was there, and I was frankly embarrassed by the choice of hotel.

The service, which previously had a wonderful 'can do' quality to it was quite frankly dreadful. I was left waiting at check in while the lone receptionist had a long and dreary conversation with someone looking for a permanent rental. As my booking was made in my client's name, there was a huge delay when she ponderously decided whether or not to book me in (it was all my fault, it was rudely explained to me, despite there being no facility on the online booking system to book multiple rooms under different names). The whole process felt deeply unprofessional and is just not up to the required standard in this bracket.

The rooms are still pleasant enough, but are screaming for a make over. Carpet is worn, furniture has holes in it, and the bed springs have long since given out. Kitchen are still good, though, and are very suitable for a couple looking to have the convenience of having meals in the unit.

Internet was an insane $30 a night and was of only a fair speed. Parking has increased from $20 to $30, though we were OK to leave the car there for a few hours the next morning (despite the dire threats made in signs all over the premises).

M on Mary has had its day. I was shocked by the service, disappointed by the facility maintenance and will not be booking in here again. There are a lot of similar buildings in the CBD nowadays, and the M on Mary will need to try much, much harder.

stayed for 5 nights over the xmas period, paid $3000.00 for a serviced apartment, probably the worst hotel we have stayed in, carpet was so filthy you felt you had to wear something on your feet, wall scuffed & marked,furniture not very clean, hallway stunk of the rubbish shute so you had to hold your nose till you entered the apartment, there was no service as they gave all housekeeping & staff the time off over xmas, when we rang and complained, they said they would send the receptionist up with clean towels every 2nd day? sheets were not changed in 5 days, nowhere to park car unless you pay another $30.00 a day. Word of advice if you are looking for a nice clean apartment, DON'T STAY HERE.

This apartment is the worst place I have ever stay in my 25 years of travelling. There was a dog in same floor barking and the corridors smell of stale bread, I think is coming from the dirty carpet in the common walkway. The shower is not kid friendly and there was no anti-skid mat. Furnitures in the rooms are already falling apart.

Can't fault the location as is near the shopping area but there are plenty of other aprtments in the same location.

I would not return again even if they drop the price by 75%.

Just a horrible experience.

Quite dissappointed with this hotel considering we booked a 'deluxe' room. On return to our room after our first night, we discovered our room had been 'serviced'. There were no fresh towels so we rang down for more. We were extremely shocked to see a room attendent let himself into the room without knocking, to leave the towels, extremely rude!!!! Also, the bath/shower is not safe. It is a very high step to get into the shower over the bath and being short I struggled with it and did not feel safe. Furniture looked old and shabby and all pictures in the room had been removed. We will not stay here again!
