Unfortunately we had to stay here for 3 weeks as it was during the river festival and accommodation was hard to get. Firstly on the day we arrive the cups and in general the kitchen area was unclean. There was no dishwasher so I am not sure how they clean the kitchen utentils [which were old and in need to be replaced!!] in between guests. When we told the owners about the unclean cups her reply was "What do you want me to do about it?" we thought her immediate reaction should have been to get us clean ones. Eventually the room was cleaned again the next morning. We found it generally not well maintained and the noise level was terrible as Rm10 was right next to the reception and we could clearly here all that was said!! The room was very noisy. Since we were booked for 3 weeks here I thought they would have given us the room away from the reception. The place needs more competition in the area to get its act together. The services such as cheap DVD's dont really make up for a below standard place to stay!! Plus the dryer was not working and was still not working by the time we left. We had to ask for soap to be replaced. This trip was to see family and check Brisbane out for a possible winter retreat - hence the long stay. We usually move around to different places while on holiday - we thought staying in one place would be more relaxing!!
On a more positive side it was roomy - large bed [2 beds together] - and was in a brillient location.
