“It is a pit!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

None promised services, but charge you fortune! Poor room conditions; dirty carpet; thin old bed sheet with never washed bed cover; towels is so old and it has holes, toilet paper falls apart before you using it; no any accessory in a room; don't depend on a morning call, it would never happen! Not yet, it is right next to park, but there are no lights to access around if it is little dark. The location of the hotel is near Nowhere, you have to either ask in advance for an appointment for a taxi, or stuck in a dirty empty room; A senior couple running the hotel, no breakfast service unless pay addition; office opens from 8 to 6. After that, it is all on your own. We paid for $195 per night, but it doesn’t worth a penny. We travelling all over the world, but this is the most disappoint place we have stayed. Stay away from it!!!

“Plenty of Space”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2009

Plenty of space in the two bedroom unit located on the first floor that I used for a week in mid June 2009 - no lift so that I could see so I would hate to be on the top levels. Single cane/cushion lounge chairs in loungeroom - no actual lounge and very small lcd tv - no cable or in house videos. Everything floral and heavily patterned and lots and lots of cane.

Could do with a bit of an update and the tiled floors throughout definately need to be steam mopped - dirty and definately greasy - don't walk around in bare feet as they will be filthy within minutes. Office hours are pretty short - closing at 3pm on Sundays and only open til around 6pm during the week so make sure you check in early.

Other than that the rest of the apartment is pretty clean (ie linen and towels) and the location is pretty much perfect - not too close not too far to everything and the lovely Botanic Gardens nearby. Definately plenty of space in the unit and fairly large balcony. Desk staff polite and reasonably helpful as long as you turn up during 'office hours'. Have stayed in better however definately enjoying the space.

“Great holiday house vibe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2008

GReat family holiday house vibe. These flats are spacious and easy maintenance. It's out of the centre of town a little bit, and not really near any shops. But on the other hand only about 10 minutes walk to Mindil Beach and the sporting social clubs in Fannie Bay.

Great Botanic Gardens setting, quiet and easygoing. Clean and satisfactory, if not particularly modern, facilities.

“A great place to stay”

A great place to stay!
Four of us stayed in a two bedroomed apartment for 6 days - just got home yesterday. A short walk thru the beautiful Botanic Gardens into the main CBD area, the apartment was a very well equipped & restful place to stay. Our hosts - Paul & Ute - were truly excellent! I'm puzzled by some reviews which talked about no lighting at the pools - lights were on at the pools(two!) until 10.00pm.A perfect place tp relax after a busy day seeig the local sights.

“Darwin Oasis of Quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2006

We stayed on the top floor of an Executive 1 bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the cycad garden of the Botanic Gardens, and a view of the ocean. After a recce around Darwin we decided that because we love peace and quiet, this was the best place to be (as opposed to being in the centre of Darwin). We used the Gardens twice daily to walk in, or as a thoroughfare to other areas such as Mindil Beach Markets, the Museum and the Ski Club (a great place to have lunch right on the shore beside the museum!). The only drawback was on Territory Day (July 1) when fireworks go on for 6 hours plus, and some residents of the complex let off 7 cartons of fireworks in the Gardens, right in front of our apartment and left their mess behind. The only thing that marred the holiday. The kitchen was slightly under-equipped but good enough and the floors weren't as clean as I would have hoped. But service is friendly, spa pool attached (very cool!); good fridge and stove; internal laundry great; comfortable queen bed and good reading lamps; quiet and efficient A/C. Extra towels were requested and given without charge or discussion. We had a great time. Recommended for couples who like quiet, leafy surroundings versus being in the thick of the action in the CBD. Also recommend that you request the top floor. Balcony faces west and so beautiful sunsets, but too hot to use in the middle of the afternoon. Great for b/fast and dinner (no bugs!).
