This was our 3rd trip to Darwin to escape the cold Melbourne winter however was our first stay at Marina View. Great apartment on the 6th floor - fully refurbished with all mod cons and great air-con. Very comfortable beds and was a very quiet apartment which was surprising as they were totally full due to school holidays. The location of the apartments in Cullen Bay is excellent with a short stroll to the many restaurants and sunset cruises or the ferry to Mandorah. Parking was limited however on street parking is quite OK and posed no problem. Pool, although shallow and a little on the warm side, was refreshing and also allowed you to take a dip until 10.30pm at night - which was great after dinner. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Marina View Apartments for 4 nights at the end of May 2007.
The Cullen Bay area is a nice area, restaurants, etc - however be aware that it is quite a walk to Darwin city centre itself, particularly in the swealtering heat.
The apartment itself was okay, nice living-area; basic kitchen, but had everything you would need to be self-catering. Bathroom a little old and tired, but again, has what you need. Undercover parking which is great if you get a hire car.
Main complaint was the amount of noise you get from other apartments - but guess this is par for the course in apartment blocks.
A bit expensive for what you get; but overall an okay-ish experience.

The apartment was modern, clean and quite nicely furnished, but the kitchen, although well fitted out, had no bench space at all which made it difficult for food preparation. Beware if there are more than 2 of you! There was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, which also housed the washing machine and tumble drier. The word serviced in the name may mislead you as it did me. They are only serviced every 9 days, so as we were there for four nights, we had the same towels every day and they were hard to dry.
The apartments are in a quiet location, a 2 minute stroll from Cullen Bay which has good restaurants and a great atmosphere at night. It was not as expensive to eat there as I presumed it would be. Had excellent Thai food for less than $20pp.
We travelled for sunshine and a swimming pool. There was plenty of sun, but the pools were very disappointing. The main pool is only.9m deep (or shallow!) and I could feel my knees on the bottom of the pool as I swam. The surround is very uninspiring also - cheap mismatched artificial decking. The other pool has a very sharp drop to the deep end, but is only approx 10m long. This area had outdoor carpeting. The staff were mostly great, apart from one - she just couldn't crack her face with a smile. Still we enjoyed our stay. :)

We stayed for four days in mid-September. The weather was hot and humid, as you would expect, but the airconditioning did not seem to work well and could not be left on if you were out for some hours.
The pool complex was good and the staff were very helpful at all times.
The facilities were adequate, but there was a shortage of utensils in the kitchen which made cooking difficult. Therew were a few housekeeping problems which needed some attention, lights not working,etc.
The situation is excellent, very convenient to Darwin centre and yet away from noise and traffic. The apartments are ideal for families seeking space.
