“cCheck Your CREDIT CARD BILL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

person found this review helpful

Stayed the night on a *GOLD* member voucher, room was great , however Breakfast was shocking..On check out paid $25 per person for breakfast which was too much for the experience... 3 Days later a bill comes with a credit card receipt for $65..Apparently the room we were given was over the value of the voucher...Would have been nice to have known this on check in... Food in the restaurant was not warm, had to send it back twice for it to be heated..Room was great , no complaints there.Would have been nice to have been told extra $$$ on check in..NOt receive it 3 days later...

“Pleasant venue with fairly efficient service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Not impressed with room service cooking. Ordered lamb with vegetables and received half cooked vegetables with chewey lamb. The chef should have been ashamed of the meal. asked for 750ml mineral water as per menu and received 350ml approx size but was charged for 750ml.
Mini bar prices were outlandish as expected.
Previously have eaten at the restaurant and received properly cooked food.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for the top quality rooms

“Bouncers are Pricks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I found Lasseters to be no too bad a place to stay. Staff were mostly helpful and accommodating (except the bouncer who denied me access because he believed i was too drunk. Id had 4 beers. He had to let me in so i could get to my room, ordered me not to go to the casino. I went anyway and they served me at the bar straight away.) Rooms are a little simple and over priced. Wasn't impressed with the cutlery at the breakfast buffet, every piece was stained with food. Oh and the gym resembled something you see in a bad 70's film lol.
Apart from that it was fine, the free bike hire was great. Enjoyed the pool. Just a little too far from town.

“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

As always, staying at Lasseters in Alice was good value. Plenty of choices for meals and the accommodation was clean and good value.

Room Tip: Try for an upgrade during the "wet' season or when it is not too busy

“Can't complain about the service.... there isn't any. !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I do not stay at Lasseters when I am in Alice because there rooms are very basic and way overpriced for what you get.
I do however go there for dinner at their restaurant "Juicy Rump" on the Tuesday night when they offer "2 for 1" prices and follow that up with a wander around the gaming area. Going there this recently will now be the last time I go to Lasseters until they change their management and a whole bunch of their staff.

REVIEW.....
JUICY RUMP... terrible !! I had to go hunting around for a menu myself since the staff I asked did not know where they were... She says, "There should be one on a table somewhere," and then walks away not to be seen again. What is supposed to be a 350 gram steak might be, but why was mine substantially smaller that my mate's? This in my opinion might have been some "pay back" from the chef after he got the order wrong in the first place. He actually tried to argue with me and tell me that is what I ordered. The receipt is flashed at me and it turns out the dipsy cashier got it wrong. So then the chef argues with her. Lovely display of customer service... NOT!! When I got my correct order "steak, salad and chips", would you believe they put all of just six small chips on the plate??!!. So I had to have them correct that as well. The upholstery on our dining chairs had rips and stitching coming undone and the table looked like it had been struck with a hammer given there was a large chunk missing from the stone surface. I might add it would have been nice if they used a clean cloth to wipe down the table rather than the overused greasy one that left streaks all over it, but that was only where they actually had wiped it. It was obvious that only ab out half of the table was wiped down. We watch a staff member wipe down the table next to us. Dirty rag and with one hand wiped back and forth just once and probably only touched half of the table surface. I could see gravy drips from previous diner still on the table where she missed. Flies constantly buzzing around landing on my face or on my meal was only an added touch to the large cockroach that scampered across the floor.

THE BAR - Juicy Rump
Bar keep did not know his stock. I see a beer label in the fridge I was not familiar with. I asked what make it was and he says... "dunno" and looks at me blank faced. I had to ask him to take a look for me. Prices are way above that of other bars in town. Customers waiting to be served while staff are occupied chatting to each other so hence customers get ignored.

THE GAMING AREA.
The pokies (slot machine) area was almost entirely local aborigines. Now I do not care about that at all, but what I do care about is people with poor hygene in close proximity. This woman sat next to me and I had to cash out and move. She stunk of stale sweat. A guy walks past me and he stunk of stale urine. Woeful. !!
So I go to the tables and only there could I be surrounded by people with good hygene, mind you, a couple of them couldn't stand straight since they were so drunk.
THE BAR IN THE GAMING AREA.... Have you ever gone to a bar where the bar keep has never heard of a Pina Colada? She says, "Is that a drink?". Glad I didn't ask for a "grasshopper" or I might have been served an insect. Add to that being at a bar, only one person serving, 6 people waiting to be served and other staff coming behind the bar for a social chat with the bar keep and ignore the customers.

THE PUBLIC TOILET (gaming area)
Yucky !! Floor was sticky, urinal didn't flush properly, someone apparently blew their nose into the hand basin (mucus glob), soap dispenser empty, hand drier not working properly dirty floors and walls, tiles cracked and the stink was overpowering.

Bye Bye Lasseters.. I won't be back. Poor Food, Poor Service, Poor Cleanliness etc... etc...

Dear DarwinAustralia,

Thanks for taking the time to post a review.

Your feedback about the portion sizes has been passed onto the kitchen who have addressed this. Product knowledge is constantly being worked on with the staff and I am disappointed that the staff behind the bar were not aware of what they are selling. Training is ongoing and I have made sure all bar staff are aware of our cocktail list. We are constantly striving to exceed our customers expectations through good, consistent, professional customer service - I am sorry on this occasion we fell well short

If you do choose to return to Juicy Rump to dine, please contract me directly, so I can ensure you are well looked after.

Kind Regards
