My husband and I stayed in the Aurora for two nights, one at either end of our camping excursion to Uluru. This meant we saw two different rooms. The hotel itself lacks any charm whatsoever. Its rooms are basic, and both rooms had seen better days. One had a dripping showerhead that wasn't attached to the wall very well. The other had a dripping toilet cistern. Both are things that should have been noticed by cleaning staff and could have been easily fixed... but they weren't.
The Aurora's location was great, however. It's back door let out onto the mall, where there was a wide selection of shops and eating places. It's also in the centre of town, so it was easy to walk around and explore Alice's delights. It's also across the road from the big, usually dry, riverbed, where there are walking and running tracks.
