Not so good...
- insects in the room! lizards, bugs etc somehow find their way inside and once at night I heard strange noises and knew there was something else alive in the room and moving around...
.-small kitchenette, I didn't get a microwave in the room but at least they provide cutlery etc which is quite good and a fridge in the room
-tv in the room, but not working properly at all times but still... you can use it
-Location itself is very good because of it's own beauty and charme but...too far from the city centre. If you have to go there often, better to have own transport. It is not a 15 minutes walk as I have read here before.. it is really 30-40 minutes and don't attempt the walk in the heat!! I know what I am talking about...
However there is a free shuttle bus but you have to book it in advance (it goes every 2 hours or so but not during the weekend) and even a public bus which goes every two hours (wish I had known that earlier) ..however the bus stop is located at the highway just outside the lodge..might be a bit unsafe at times?! If you want to use the public transport I would advise the reception, they are helpful and can tell you more about that.
There is a supermarket on side which is good on the one hand, but I found it overprized and they didn't have much to choose from so I would rather go to town for that. But they also provide meals at the tavern which were quite good, especially fish and chips.
Also good was...feeding the rock wallabies and just seeing them hopping around all the time! The McDonnell Ranges just in front of you and simply the fact that it is not in town gives you the feeling that you are in the middle of the outback...which why internet is either way very expenise there and if you have your own wireless you have to be patient :)
If you want to stay in a place that feels like living in the real outback go there and if you don't mind being away from the city centre and don't have to use the internet too much (phone reception can be poor at times too)...but be aware, because it is remote, it could be dodgy at night in the surrounding area and make sure you lock your room and the door to your balcony!
There could be loud noise and music especially during weekends because of functions.
To sum it up:
great for a real stay in the outback...either way if your staying in the motel or camp there. However if you really rely on internet etc and need to be close to town another place would be better!
