The hotel is in a very happening part of the city, "King's Cross". Here, you get a mixed bag of things from prostitution, many loitering vagrants, seedy activities, to plentiful pubs, many restaurant choices, good transit, and close to good walks to places such as Hyde Park and Elizabeth Bay. But, the hotel itself lacked in many areas. The front door could be problematic in as much as it was locked early. The staff gave so-so. service, the cleaning of our room was hit and miss (never vacuumed, and either half cleaned or forgotten altogether), the elevator was a bit of a fright (a huge jolt each time it arrived at our floor), the window was very difficult to open, and the "NOISE" was almost unbearable come "party" hour!!! On Friday evening, I probably slept off and on for two hours tops. On Saturday evening, I took advantage of the hotels free earplugs. This helped a bit. Be sure that I am NOT exaggerating here. I have never heard so much loud music banging, yelling, screaming, hooting, and loud chatter directly below any hotel I have ever stayed in. The music went on until 6 AM! Oh yes, get ready for the garbage/bottle collection that occurs very early in the morning. The best thing about this hotel has to be its location!! It is within easy access to transit, charming neighbourhoods, a variety of shops, many pubs, and downtown.
