I read less than complimentary reviews elsewhere and was a bit apprehensive about this place, but went for it anyway as we were on a budget and I wanted the ability to prepare my own food. It turned out to be fine. Sure, if you're expecting a luxury hotel, it isn't that. It's basically one room with comfortable bed(s) (we had a twin room), a sofa and table, a smallish TV, and a kitchen unit with utensils, cutlery and crockery. It has a kettle, a microwave and a single plug-in hob. It doesn't have a cooker, though, so you won't be fully self-catering. We made breakfast there, took sandwiches for lunch when I could be bothered to make them, and except for a couple of nights when I cooked meat pies and spuds, we ate dinner in restaurants. Those more adept/enthusiastic at cooking could do a lot more there, of course. We were there for 11 days.

Towels are changed once a week. Half way through the week I just added them to our laundry. There's a laundry room in the basement with washers and dryers. No powder or change (though if you're lucky someone will have left powder). Cleaning is also done once a week. This isn't a hotel.

It's 10 minutes from the beach, but we went in winter so our attention was on more cultural pursuits. Personally, I find the whole Bondi area pretty depressing, so apart from the first day when we walked to the beach and the second to last day when we did the Bondi-Clovelly walk (wonderful!!), we spent our time in the CIty. But that was convenient enough. The 389 bus stops right outside (both ways) and it's a half hour trip to Circular Quay. If you have to commute you'd probably get fed up with it, but on holiday it's part of the experience. You can buy daily or weekly prepaid tickets in the shop opposite the apartments (very friendly guy there! But avoid the Bondi Mini Supermarket up the road - the guy is as friendly as death).

I would go back there.

It's a cross between a motel and an apartment at this place. Service is pretty good, the place is gated so you must go to get someone to open the gate when you first arrive. Staff friendly enough. Room is clean, apart from some dirt in the shower. Newly refurbished it seems. Bed is a bit too firm although good enough for the night. Very clean sheets and good amenities and clean cutlery although I really think they need a hairdryer. As a note to everyone an extra towel is under the sofa bed. The Foxtel isn't very good but for a few nights it's fine if your not lounging about. Unfortunately the place seems very strict. With so many signs telling you what you shouldn't be doing. Like having a conversation near the office. Internet is paying. As it says in the title. The beach is pretty close but could be closer. Overall if you want Affordable and Cheerful Accomodation but the basics this place is for you!

Please note though, this is NOT a Hotel! It's an apartment!

Behind the gates to the secure parking area reveals what was most likely a motel during the 70's. The land is probably earmarked for development and the owners are doing what is needed to keep it going, no more, no less. Make no mistakes, you are in a rental room and not a motel, lots and lots of signs telling you what you can and cant do, a list of prices should you break anything - 5 bucks for the plastic water filler for the iron?? Overall it was a pleasant enough place to stay, nice and secure albeit a little dated.

The website describes the apartments as contemporary and quality - however, they have the feel of a cheap motel! The mattress on the bed was very thin and uncomfortable, and we had to sleep in our clothes to stay warm as there is only a thin blanket to keep covered.

The heating unit could not heat the small apartment. I suppose that is why there was a little 10cmx20cm heater provided!

The facilities are basic - no tea/coffee/sugar/milk supplies, no hair dryer, no additional blankets. While it advertises free foxtel, there are only three channels available.

The location is not close the the beach as the description of "best on the beach" might suggest.

While cheap, the lower rates are not good value.
