location is next to Woolworth supermarket, about 7 minutes walking to Kings Cross station (with heavy luggage about 10 min). Good mattrasses. Big rooms.

Shared bathroom: only one bathrooms for 6 rooms per level, in the morning every now and then you have to wait or find another bathroom in the building. No elevator available! Small bathroom, no bath tubs.

We had a great deal for only 89 dollar per room for a room with balcony!

The lodge is at the heart of night life of sydney and near the CBD , the reception is good-tempered guy, the loge is clean ...

Room was really big (biggest!), with sink, fridge, microwave. Nice restaurants (thai!, italian) around. Safe neigbourghood (gets worse when you go to king cross). You can walk to the city centre, opera. Really nice licalisation and great service!! Big balcony.

Minus - rooms from the street are bit loud during week days (cars) and weekends (hens parties).

We arrived at Macleay lodge and were made to feel very welcome by the lady at reception (I think Tracy) and the whole place had a nice easy going atmosphere about it. The location was great and in walking distance to most of the places we needed to visit as well as having many shops and restaurants in the immediate area.
The building and rooms, although a bit dated, were at least clean and tidy with all the necessary amenities including microwave, fridge, cutlery, table and chairs.
The only negative for us was the share toilet and shower, but for our budget, the great location and the warm welcome, one could easily handle having to share and I would definitely stay here again.
