We have just stayed at Waldorf Apartments in Woolloomooloo, in the heart of Sydney and thought it was exceptional value for money. 20 mins leisurely stroll through the botanical gardens to the Opera House and Circular Quay and close to the NSW Art Gallery with views to the city, excellent restaurants close by, a quiet dead end street and in-house parking if you need it, this is ideally located. We even had a cockatoo come to our balcony to eat out of our hand. We stayed in a studio apartment with king bed. The room was very large and had everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. The place is not glitzy though and a bit tired but that was more than compensated for by it's location and spaciousness and by the fact that the price was less than half what you would pay in a 5 star hotel. The apartment was unserviced and reception was not manned after 6 pm but we did not need any of that. A continental breakfast was available. When reception was manned, Asif was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We will ddefinitely stay there again.

Convenient location - stroll through nearby Botanical Gardens to Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay - great views of Sydney's skyline. Large, comfortable room with balcony, kitchenette, own laundry facs in bathroom. Kings Cross not the best area, with noisy pub next door, but 10 minutes from "Finger" quay with great restaurants inc. Indian, Chinese (China Doll), bars etc. so plenty of choice.
Only problem is unfriendly, unhelpful staff. If you arrive late (ie. after 6pm) no-one around and keys left. Street parking impossible and not safe, so need access to hotel parking. Make sure to call ahead if you anticipate late arrival!
With early check-out - although reception sign says manned from 7am no-one around until at least 8am. Calling hotel cell-phone number no help as no reply! Make sure to complete registration form on check-in, otherwise they will automatically charge your credit card used as deposit. We wanted to pay in cash, and despite lengthy "welcome" chat on first morning, we were not asked to fill-in registration form! As a result, on check-out our credit card had already been charged without us being informed which was inconvenient as we'd brought mostly cash for our trip. Hotel manager very unfriendly, blaming us for not having registered!
$210 per night good price as long as you don't expect any service!

Superb hotel apartment accomodation. The location was perfect, we could walk to any of the attractions within 10mins. Stayed in a one bedroom apt, immaculately clean when we arrived, although housekeeping was great, our apartment was modern and nicely decorated in nueutral colours.. The kitchenette was compact but sufficent and included a dishwasher. oven and a microwave was sufficient for cooking needs. The reception area was spacious and welcoming . Internet is ok but you have to pay and should be free nowadays. Reception staff were helpful and pleasant at all times. Booked trip to Blue Mountains for us. Booked directly with the hotel and got a good rate. Do not book a shuttle bus over the internet . You have to ring them when you land and this proved a problem for us because the phone would not connect because did not have proper prefix. There are shuttle buses available there waiting from lots of companies so travelling from the airport is not a problem. the free breakfast is a nice bonous and the overall rate we paid was very good for Sydney Accommodation.

Have stayed here a few times and find the location excellent. Only a short walk to Hyde Park, The Art Museum, the central city and many other attractions. Staff are always so friendly and helpful. Would be helpful to have someone on front desk for a longer period of time.
The only negative comment is that there is no ramp to get bags from the street to the entrance foyer. These have to be lifted up stairs.
