Arrival - poor customer service with very little professionalism. Receptionist did not greet us or seem pleased for our custom.
Bedroom - the fridge was dirty, no headboard on the bed and the lamp switch was at the head of bead, so each time you turn over the light would flash on and off.
Bathroom - could do with some bleach and a scrubbing brush floor to ceiling. Everything just seemed grimy. Soap dispenser in shower was dirty! Towels had seen better days.
Definitely not good value and not sure what constitutes a 'boutique hotel' - maybe it's the punch mark in the artwork in the room, or in the back of the door?
Breakfast - only served until 9.30am with limited choice although the management will say that it's complimentary so what should you expect
24hrs before departure, I visited reception to ask them to call the taxi transfer company to arrange pick up the next day and got the reply "so why are you asking me, you can use the phone in your room and the call will be charged at 60C". On the day of departure, the reception took the key and did not even ask if the stay had been comfortable and carried on doing whatever they were doing. I've stayed in many hotels and this is down there with the worst of them. Bring back Customer Service where someone appreciates you spending your hard earned money with them.
Upside - the only positive is that we discovered 'Harry's pies' as it's just round the corner on the wharf and we would not have come across the Botanical gardens if we hadn't had to walk through them to reach the city.
