“Horrible unprofessional staff. Good location”

The location itself was great for the price, just a few minutes walk from central station and directly opposite darling harbor. However the front reception desk was extremely rude and did not speak proficient English.. We were told that there was a carpark for overnight stays Which cost $40. We queried this with the man at reception and he said 'yes yes pay in the motning' when we showed him our parking ticket as we were checking out he said it was the wrong car park and he couldn't help us. It cost us $75 for parking and the $200 bond he took for the room took a week to go back into my account. Would not stay here again on the count of rude staff!

“Well located near Darling Harbour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We had a fairly biggish room. With everything in place. Does not have a lobby or waiting area to boast of. And all public access areas are very downmarket. Like most carpeted hotels which are dusty, so was this. There was no servicing available but we did not stay long so it wasn't a problem for us. Lot of Asian eateries in the area. Eat at your own risk. The Chinese Garden is nearby and so is the Harbourside, Aquarium, etc. And walking distance to many must do places.

“Excellent location, wonderful rooms. Shame about the lack of staff...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My fiance and I stayed at Quest on Dixon for one night in December. On arrival we had no problem checking in, and were both very pleased with our room. The hotel is located in the heart of the city - right next to the Chinese Gardens at Darling Harbour. Monorail and light rail stations were both located within a short walking distance of the hotel, which made it simple to get around the city.
At night we found plenty of international eateries located across the road, open until the early hours.
Despite the fact that these apartments are located in a prime part of the city we had no problem with outside noise while in our room, and the block out curtains and soft mattress meant that we both got an excellent nights sleep.
Our only major problem occured when we had to check out. As there was only one person working on the front desk at the reception area it took us 20 minutes to check out. We decided to leave our bag at the hotel and have one last look around the city before heading home. When we came back to retreive our back we found an even bigger line up in the foyer, and ended up missing our train home.
Overall, we found the place to be excellent, though I'm sure it wouldn't kill management to put on one extra staff member during peak periods, particularly during the holiday season.

Room Tip: The apartments on the second floor with their own private courtyards are excellent. Make sure you b...

“Okay for business, excellent location”

I stayed 4 nights here in November while I had some meetings in Darling Harbour. The location is fantastic, and its only a minutes walk from the new Darling Quarter development. I did not receive any servicing of my room while I stayed however - Whilst I had do not disturb on the door for the first two days when I had lots of work equipment strewn around the room, I would have expected that the room would have been serviced on the final two days when no such sign was on the door.
The rooms are of reasonable size for a serviced apartment but were nothing special. Considering the location, Quest on Dixon is a convenient place to stay, but I only received an apartment, no servicing!

“Beware cockroaches!”

The rooms are not cleaned properly, food crumbs were found on furniture when we arrived. First room had cockroahes on the floor, we even found one in the kettle when we went to use it. The second room we were moved too had cockroaches too. Clearly whole building is infested. Despite a long email and numerous telephone calls made to Quest on Dixon and promises that we will receive compensation and a phone call from management, no compensation and no contact has been made about our terrible experience there. Utterly dissappointed and feeling ripped off!!
